Hi ,i just wanted to share with you , My excitement ,after Teddy 's first afternoon @our local shoot .Last 2 drives of the day,Ted & i arrived, to be positioned to sit behind the guns (well back),under the care of the head picker upper ! Teddy ,was a star , he sat next to me ,when the guns went off he sat so tall ,tail wagging & watching the sky for the falling birds,then he saw the dogs picking up ,fascinated ! At the end of that drive ,he was shown ,a dead Partridge ,he sniffed it ,& eventually he did a beautiful retrieve (phew!) Second Drive went the same ,with anther retrieve @the end ;D Back at the farm he had a good look at the game cart with all the birds, still quite calm. To round it off ,he was invited to come for the whole day in 2weeks time (yippee) Fantastic first experience ,but still a long way to go !
Re: 1st time out ! Well done you!! Thats fantastic, lovely news Teddy remaining so calm is a great result, it can be a bit overwhelming for a young dog the first time out. You must be really proud of him. Bet you can't wait for the next time!

Re: 1st time out ! Thank-u for the praise , Teddy is 20 mths . my ambition is to be a picker upper in maybe in 3yrs time !, but iknow its slowly ,slowly, but im thrill with him so far
