Greetings, our 18-month old back field lab Teddie is in her 2nd heat...she appears to be more tired than usual. She has been a very active high energy puppy since day one . Still will go on good walks in the woods, fetch , etc....appetite has change a bit as well in that she's not hovering her food when put down for her. Are we just experiencing her transition into a young calmer audial dog or is low energy part of the heat cycle?

Some of my girls 'sulk' when they're in season, but bounce back to their usual selves quickly.

This sounds like part of her season to me... but as always, if in doubt, a quick call to the vet will set your mind at rest :)

My experience is that whenever I think a pup is settling down and getting more grown up... they turn around the next week and prove me wrong ;)
