Jake is 12 weeks tomorrow and can go to 3 meals a day. He has been fed at 7, 11, 3 and 7 so far. What times do people pick for 3 meals? Is it best to feed him after first wee and a walk so around 8am or feed him at 7am and walk him at 9am if I'm not at work (I work 2/3 mornings a week but husband works shifts so may well be home if I'm not) Then 1pm and 7pm??
When I went to 3 meals I done 8am, 1.30pm, 7pm. It worked well for us. Harley has always been lazy as would often stay in bed u til 10/11am unless I had to work and be up early. On the days she slept in I would keep to the 7pm meal, do lunch half way between breakfast and tea.
We have been doing out for first pee/short walk at 7AM followed by breakfast at 7:30, noon for lunch and 6PM dinner.
I think I would push breakfast back to around 7:30 with lunch around 1.00 and then dinner at 7:00, but really the timings are what works best for you and your family. If 8 is better for breakfast, just juggle the other timings to spread the meals reasonably evenly across the day.
My two are still on three meals a day at 21 months, because it works well for us all. They are fed after their morning walk, generally around 8am. Lunch is normally around 1pm and dinner at 8pm. These are all very fluid, though, depending on what we're doing each day.
We have gone for 7am, 1pm and 7pm with morning walk sometime around 9.30/10am and pm walk around 5/6 pm. This is working while there is one of us at home with him. After the end of the month, we might push breakfast back half an hour or so to fit in the morning walk.
