Hi all, I hope someone can help me. My 4 year old lab had a Yeast infection in his ears about 4 months ago which we took him to the vet for. He also had terrible bald patches appearing on his legs and stomach. The vet said it was all linked and the treatment given to him would clear it all up. He took the medicines prescribed and his ears did clear up, however his fur on his legs is still very patchy and he is still quite itchy. He has licked a huge patch of skin bare right in his back leg 'armpit'. He doesn't lick this anymore, but the hair has not regrown. He is very well in himself, eating, drinking and acting like a regular lab, but he just looks a terrible sight. We did maybe think that he was suffering from lots and lots of bug bites (we have just move to Alabama and live in a very wooded area which is riddled with mosquitos), could this be the cause? I don't want to have to take him to the vet again and drop another $500 on something that isn't going to work, I would also like to avoid giving him prolonged courses of medicine. Any suggestions please :) Thanks

Unfortunately there are lots reasons for this type of problem . He will need see a vet perhaps go to a different one?you need a diagnosis before he can treated sucessfully. He may need continuing treatment depending on the problem.
