Thank you all for the kind words. He knew something was a miss this morning as he was not given any food. Greeted the specialist with a huge wag of the tail. So luckily we have no issues there. Just have to wait and see how the op goes.

Well he is back home:). The op OK well but it looks like arthritis has already set in his right elbow. A sample is being sent to assess the type of inflammation it is causing. The left elbow was in a much worse state than his right elbow. The cartilage is very damaged and he removed a huge piece of floating bone (UHT). He can hardly walk this time....Very upset and heartbroken that his future is not quite what we perceived. One day at a time.
Thanks again for all the well wishes. It actually does help!!I am just happy to have him home. Off for a little cry now and then a huge hug for my chocolate delight.

I have just re-read thread. Make me laugh and cry! The eating cake and drinking a glass of wine seems also to appear in my routine. Also the thoughtless designer owners also ring true!! We are actually looking into stem cell injections. Need more research on it, but we are open to anything at the moment to help Hunter have quality life and with minimal pain. I love Mabel's story.:doug:

Yes stayed in touch but I am surprised that she does not seem to care. Really disappointed with her. Also quite upset and angry about. I sent a message today and no reply!!

That’s shocking considering his age and the severity ☹️ Were his parents elbow and hip scored?

Yes very low score. I think we have been hugely unlucky. Going to get his DNA assessed anyway. The breeder is registered and has a good reputation.

Oh no, so sorry to hear that news @Lorraine Seale. A good cry followed by puppy cuddles, a glass of wine or two really does help at times - if only for a few hours. Hunter will come through this and be his happy normal Lab self - we just become more aware of the implications of weight and exercise. We're 3 years post op and inflamnation us becoming more of a revurring problem, but my girl still enjoys life and loves doing her zoomies on walks, retrieving balls, dummies and toys, and playing with other dogs when she gets the opportunity. Sending big hugs to you and Hunter x
