I really cannot believe Jake will be 6 months old next week. Where has the time went to? He's so full of love, and is a real cuddle monster. He's been really good up to now (long may it continue), and hasn't chewed anything in the house he shouldn't have, and although he is a sock thief, he doesn't eat them. I think the sock thing will be something he always does, and it doesn't bother us, he's cute when he's stolen on and shown it off, and at least it's not a pant fetish We've been training hard on walks, he's recalled from a jogger, and a cyclist, he recalls from most dogs and sits and looks at me while I slowly dispense treats. I'm increasing the gaps between treats, and he's doing well. We did have a bad start to a walk on Saturday, which was my own fault. I had just gotten out the car, he was excited and I let him off, when a man and a Springer appeared. I couldn't for the life of me get Jake's attention, he would not recall or pay attention to me, or his treats, and the other dog was unsettled by Jake's attempt's to play. The man ended up walking his dog in the other direction, I apologised but felt really frazzled by it all. Jake was still to wound up, and started running away from me, and going after the other dog. Forgot all about not chasing him and tried to catch him, before jogging off calling him. We live and learn though. We're starting our Bronze classes next Thursday so that will be fun, really looking forward to it. Anyway here is Jake at 8 weeks and one from Tuesday:
he's growing up into a really handsome boy. Sounds like his training is going really well. I wouldn't worry about the Springer incident. It was obviously just too exciting for Jake, who is after all, still a pup.
He's doing well, a great credit to you as you've obviously put the hard work in. Lovely looking boy by the way!
Very handsome Sounds like he is a wonderful pup Harley likes pinching socks too........and never eats them either
