Hi, look I know I'm driving everybody mad but I'm sooo worried about my labradors behaviour. Today my brother in law was working in my garden. I went out with her after a little while and just loosely held her collar and let go and she bounced around his legs saying hello. I looked down at his leg and she must have nipped him. It wasnt from her claws. Blood was dripping. I was so mortified. Luckily he's a strapping lad used to dogs. Why is she still doing this? Everyone said when her big teeth came is would most probably stop. It hasn't. I know shes not aggressive. She says hello with her mouth. This is such a worry to me. I so want things to work out with her. She has done this to my dad before and he said because I didn't correct her when she was younger by tapping her nose or bottom it is my fault. I did bite inhabitition with her but what good did it do? I am so worried she'll be like this for ever and this is not the type of dog I wanted.....

Tatze still did this at nine months old, not all the time, but I couldn't drop my guard.

She WILL grow out of it xx

Ripple was a shocker still at 11 months and I was starting to feel I would have to rehome him. Now at just 16 months he's still excitable and can nip if he gets really silly, but overall, with a lot of impulse control work, he's much better.
Ripple is the most excitable dog I've ever had and its taken a lot of training but I am getting satisfaction from seeing it all pay off, I'm sure you will find the same eventually :).

Thanks guys. I just couldn't believe she'd done it. I didnt even see and I was right there. I thought I was past this stage. Unfortunately he had shorts on so would have been a different story if he was wearing jeans. She does small puncture woulds which then drip with blood and it looks so savage. People have told me I need to train her out of it and I think, 'no s*it sherlock!'

It's not just a matter of that they are not robots. I am Still careful with my latest boy and he's nearly 3. They are all different and takes longer for some to mature. Also people don't always help they can undo our hard work with one careless act
