    Hello,

We decided to change our insurance due to old one being expensive and not particularly good. We wanted to make sure we had an insurance with decent cover before we went to the vet about a potentially big issue. Having now changed the insurance(only today) we are waiting to consult the vet in a couple of days about Jax's slow rising from laying down(video attached).

We were wondering if anyone here has noticed this sort of slow rise with their labs?

    Many thanks!

Hmm hard to tell from that video, but my older dog has never “popped up” fast from a down unless it’s to retriever outside. She hates the “down” position and goes down and comes up very slowly from it (from puppyhood). Good that you are speaking to your vet though.

Thanks for your response, QuinnM15. Assuring to hear the slow rise is not necessaily a sign of a bigger issue. We called the vet first thing this morning. They dont seem overly concerned so they have asked us to bring Jax on Monday for a check. Fingers crossed.

Just adding an update on here since we had the orthopedic specialist appointment yesterday. Jax's hips are a bit lax but nothing that is of much cencern right now. The x rays, CT scan and physical exam confirmed that his hips are fine.
