Lincoln is 9 months old already. He is awesome. We can take him anywhere and he behaves perfectly. He loves people and dogs especially puppies. I never thought we’d get here but we did.
Hi jade, well done to you and Lincoln both! You've obviously done a good job as Lincoln behaviour is so good. We're still a work in progress with Isla, she loves other dogs and always wants to play and has selective hearing!she's a darling though and so much calmer at home and she walks beautifully on lead. We love her to bits
Well done Jade. You should be very proud. We are in a similar place to Isla. Chewie is a very sweet, loving dog (currently asleep on my lap, after intently sniffing my pregnant belly) but loves very indiscriminately, which can be a challenge out in the world! He generally behaves quite well in the house as long as he isn't alone too long and doesn't have access to anything too tempting.
Well done, Willow is so doing great she is such fun and doesn't chew the door frames anymore She loves people and dogs the only issue is if she sees another dog or people she wants to run and say hello so she is only let atm when we are away from anyone. We haven't covered recall yet in class. She is walking on a long leash nicely. https://www.facebook.com/groups/VillagerJimsGroup/permalink/417402218833867/
Well done @Jade - I bet it's lovely to be seeing the rewards of all your work. We're in the same place as @Chewies_mum and @Saffy/isla - she's definitely calming down but is so enthusiastic when anyone comes near to her. I recently heard from the owners of her little mates, and they're all finding the same thing. Onwards and upwards though.....
I have two at 9 months old at the moment. Brother and sister but very different. They have both been very easy, but the dog pup is picking things up for his training much quicker than the bitch pup. The dog pup os a little love too and loves sofa snuggles, but the bitch pup- not so much! Both are fantastic on the recall whistle and doing well on the stop whistle too. Strange how different they are when they have had the same upbringing, the bitch pup really barks at other dogs and people (we don't bump into many folk around here!). It's interesting having to use a very different approach with two pups who should be so similar.
