I have been doing lots of work with Charlie in the garden keeping his focus on me for the next exercise or fun game. He has become very steady to a marked dummy at quite a distance and waits to be sent in without my arm in front of him so great impulse control at last  His blinds are really good, but this is only for fun for us :) I have done lots of sending him to play and then throwing treats and calling "find it" he runs at full speed from whatever he is doing in the trees which are very exciting for Charlie  to search them out, he is constantly looking at me for direction. This is great for me because he used to charge round the garden so having this level of focus is heartwarming for me :) I do lots of hiding from him which he does love. I have also been doing lots of stop whistle sending him to his mat which is really improving. He is choosing to stay with me rather than doing so much bird watching :D

I love the way he smiles and is eyes are so wide waiting for the next fun thing. But as ever, this doesn't translate on a walk, but hey ho that's life with Charlie. I'm just happy to be training him and seeing exactly what his is capable of which is actually quite a lot and it makes me feel good that he is working his brain as well as his body. Well done my lovely boy xx

It does make you proud doesn't it? I love when my dogs focus but still have fun like that.
    Well done both of you.

    Yayyyy! Go Charlie!

Casper adores retrieving in our fields, he knows there is no -one else around and sees it as FUNFUNFUN! I wish he could be so happy on public walks but there it is:)

So wish I had a field but our garden is large so not too bad. I agree about being the same on public walks, but it's accepting that about our boys and getting on with the fun part which is the important
    bit :) xx

Wish I had a field OR a large garden - but we're lucky to be able to find a secure field we can sneak into, or one on a public footpath (when there's no stock). Our dogs love whatever we can find for them. As long as there's no-one else - Coco can button down and concentrate and love what we do.
