Not an easy decision, Helen, but I'm thinking like your vet and would have it removed.

    Re: A Lump ;(

    So difficult to decide.
With Lilly I opted to have her skin lesion on the back of her leg removed rather than biopsied.
It turned out to be nothing, and it took weeks to get it cleared as she managed to remove the stitches when I wasn't paying attention. Didn't take long to do the damage :(

Would I be happy now without removing it?
Not sure, but suspect I would still be worrying about it if I didn't do something.
My vet was a bit vague on the advice front which didn't help me.

I think given what you said, I too would ask the vet what he/she would do if it was her dog.

I`m with Heidrun on this Helen , I would prefer to know now rather than have the added stress of watching and waiting . Whatever decision you make, good luck, hugs to Hattie xx

If the vet told me she'd have it removed then I'd have it removed. Sorry :-\

I know you don't want to put hattie through an op if possible but it's not major and will be over quickly. You can then stop worrying about it for months/years even.

Yes, I am with the others, if vet said they would have it removed then I would go with that.

Really sorry you're faced with this. I think I'd have it removed too - I know all GA s are a worry but it sounds as if Hattie is in excellent form otherwise. I had a lump removed from my last Lab when he was nearly 14 and he recovered from the GA very easily. Best wishes whatever you decide.

Given that it's a bit of an unknown I'd have it removed. Most likely it'll be nothing, but removing it will allow it to be tested properly and it can't grow any more if it's not there. Hattie is still young enough to handle the op now, which is another factor I'd consider.

Great to be told that she is in excellent general health :)

I tend to agree with everyone else. I think if it were me, I would worry constantly about the 'what if'.

Sending you big hugs x not an easy decision but I'm sure you will make the best one for Hattie x

Thank you so much for your thoughts and concern everyone it's truly appreciated :) We have decided to go ahead with the surgery to remove it or I would just be worrying myself sick. I would NEVER forgive myself if it's something nasty and we left it so it's best to get it done now :'( :'( xxx

Could be a wart. Cookie had one on his leg a year ago. Vet said to wait and see, if I see it getting bigger or smaller, they'd remove it surgically.

It fell off a few days later. Bled a lot, but didn't reappear.
