    Re: A Lump ;(

Thank you all as always from your lovely messages and support :) :)

Rang the Vet today to organise Hattie's surgery, the Vet I saw is now on leave for 2 weeks so asked to speak to another one, the Receptionist told me "the Vets don't speak to clients", I asked how much the surgery would be etc. she didn't know but she would check Hattie's file and someone will phone me back in 7 - 11 days but I can provisionally book her in for the 19th February. At a bit of a loss and feel quite cross at the inefficiency of the staff :( xx

Sorry did she really say phone you back in 7-11 days?

That's ridiculous and I would be contacting the vets themselves to tell them so......

So sorry this isn't a smooth process when you're worried anyway.

Yes that's right :( I am going to call into the practice to speak to them tomorrow as the Vets don't speak to clients over the phone

Have you been happy with the vets so far? Not very impressed.
    Of course.....could be a "dragon" receptionist :-\

Gee, that is no good! I work in a private practice and we provide a service to clients. If only the reception staff spoke to clients and we didn't bother to call back for 7-11 days we'd be out of business quick smart. It irks me that any service provider (vet or brain surgeon!!) would approach clients in this way.

Sorry that they are making you wait :( Another vet in your area you can go to?

Absolutely brilliant, all my friends go and everyone has nothing but praise for them, so I think it could be the receptionist. Maybe she is a Dragon as they do have a reptile practice too ;D

I am worried enough without being messed around :'( x

There is another Vet but it's the one I left and glad I did after the horror story I heard last week :(

I will try them again tomorrow, I was so astonished and wasn't ready for that response but I will gather myself together and see if I can sort it out. x

Gosh. I expect my vets not only to come to the phone themselves to speak with me, but to answer my emails themselves, and read my word attachment of questions the next day if I've emailed before midnight.

Mind, I think I'm known as that woman...

If you've previously been happy though, perhaps a receptionist on an off day...

Terrible response! And just what you don't need when you're worried. Hope you can speak to someone more helpful today.

So sorry you are going through this. Sounds like a cranky receptionist. Vet should ring back by end of day if not before. Hope you get some answers very soon.

    Re: A Lump ;(

Hmm, not a great result today either, but Hattie has been booked in for the 19th February for the surgery but they are still unwilling/unable to give any costings etc. until the Vet that I saw returns, which I am going along with, I don't want to rock the boat as they will be operating on my girl. They are also not sure if they will use a local or GA. On weighing it all up I would prefer to speak to the Vet that examined Hattie so that I know everything is in order.

I feel pretty anxious about this :( :( xx

I find it bizarre that they can't say ...a GA would be about this much and a sedation would be about that much. Just to give you a ballpark. Very odd ???

It's very odd, but I do think it's the receptionists, some of them think they own the practice, know everything, if that's the case why aren't they Vets themselves  x
