If it had been just a few I don't think she would have done that, but they were all over her. It was a big nest, and it right in the middle of the trail (underground). I actually think they would have killed her if my wife had not grabbed her and pulled her away. Fortunately she did not have anything but local reactions. Her face swelled up and her ears were a 1/2" thick, but she did not act like it was a big problem once we got rid of the wasps. We were a mile or so from the parking area, and at 80# she would have been hard to carry.
