We've come up north to Madison Wisconsin to visit oldest son for the Labor Day holidays and Edsel is quite mad! After being trapped traveling in the car for about 8 hrs with just a couple potty stops he arrived in the big city to many sights, sounds and smells never experienced before.
We first realized he was out of his element when he began barking like a loon at a student riding a scooter who pulled up behind us at a stoplight. Looked liked he'd come face to face with an alien!
We had some walks around the sidewalks and nearby park but it was already dark when we arrived so can't wait for morning and to see his reaction to all the wonderful new experiences. Especially the huge lake just next to son's apartment.
Should be a wonderful experience and plenty of training opportunities!

Enjoy the nice weekend in Madison, I hope you all have fun and Edsel adjusts to his new environment.

Be careful. It's our Labour Day weekend too and the roads are so busy with not always attentive drivers. Love the story about the scooter. Oban used to do the same thing with motorcycles when he was a puppy. Cars were ok, not motorcycles.

Just came back from a 30 minute walk around town. He's finally smelled enough things in the new environment to be less psychotic when out and about. Got a little fun time in playing in lake across from son's apartment yesterday. He pretty much remains unfazed by all sights and sounds except the dreaded unknown dog while on lead. But did get to meet a cute little brown fella named Ollie yesterday who was on a stroll and that went smoothly. So hard to see how much he struggles with this after being so calm and unconcerned about it when it was a daily occurrence back in Oklahoma. Just going to take time, patience and lots of experiences. Weather has been wonderful! Fantastic food! Good to spend time with son!

It always amazes me how well they adapt to different situations and environments. Have a great time.
