Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes in Introductions. Our Layla has had a bit of a rough year. January, we thought she had conjunctivitus. To cut a long storyshort, she had a thorn approx. 3/8ths of an inch pierce her eye into her lens........... Vet referred us to the eye vet in Cheshire , where we took her and she had an immediate operation to remove the thorn. Repeated 150 mile round trips for weekly check ups she is now on 6 monthly check ups. She is fine, worse case scenario she may have to have her lens removed.
April: On holiday in Devon with the dogs. Had to take Layla to vets there as she was being sick and pooing watery blood. Continued when we got home so took her to our vets who kept her in overnight on rehydRating and antibiotic drips.
Last week: Took the dogs to the beach, met a couple with 3 labs, so all 5 were chasing the balls in the sea. Time to go, put leads on the dogs, Laya's front right paw was bleeding a lot! She had not only ripped out her claw but quick as well. Vet said it could have been surgically removed it was so clean!
Let's hope she has had her quota of bad luck this year. Think I am going to dress her in goggles, helmet and boots from now on :D

Oh, poor Layla. I think some dogs are just more accident prone than others. My Willow certainly has far more problems than her brother, even though she's the "sensible" one. She's ripper her claw out, too, and it was horrible for her. They take so long to grow back!

Poor Layla. Mine seemed to go through a phase a while ago too. It was very worrying while it lasted.

Poor lass!!! The eye situation must've been a nightmare. Really hope that Layla has an accident-free future ahead of her. The full-armour body suit with goggles sounds like an excellent idea :)

Poor girl and what a worry for you. Let's hope she's got a lifetime of injuries over with in one year.
