Does anyone use an activity tracker on their dog? I am looking at getting one for Ozzie, but this seems to be a bit of a minefield on the internet, so just after some advice if anyone has one? and what they think of them?
I have looked at the whistle one http://www.whistle.com/activity-monitor/which seems really good, but then I found fitbark http://www.fitbark.com and many more smile emoticon Any help would be great smile emoticon

I think Lochan and Dexter have them? Not sure what brand, though.

Yep I have an activity tracker made by Tractive. I used it for a month on Lochan and found it great fun to see what she was up to all day and watch her shoot up through the world activity rankings. However, when I put it on Tarka I was a bit disappointed (over-competitive owner here...) as Tarka is much more active than Lochan but much of her activity is swimming and it didn't register this at all. It also didn't register activity if what she was doing involved keeping her neck steady - so running back to me with a dummy barely recorded at all as she was carrying a fairly heavy dummy and this kept her head and neck pretty steady. The Tractive comes with an add-on GPS location system which I haven't used but I think Dexter did. I found the tracker fun, got a little obsessive about checking Lochan's ranking position daily (she made world top 10 after the first month) but gradually lost interest when it didn't monitor Tarka as well as it might have done.

Does the Tractive motion have the functionality of the Tractive GPS pet tracker and vice versa? Would quite like both.....

Motorola just came out with the Motorola Scout 5000. It has the following features:
    • Monitor barking. The device detects and records when your dog barks so you can play it back.
    • Stream and capture video directly from the collar.
    • Track and measure activity.
    • Two way audio with your dog.
    • GPS track where your dog is, provided by Hubble.
    • Pre-record and play back messages for your dog.
