I adopted a 3 year old female lab last weekend. They had me bring my great pyr to meet her first because they said she gets "nervous" around other dogs sometimes. She loved my dog.
What they didnt tell me is she gets very aggressive around other dogs. I took her to the vet monday and she wasn't happy when another dog came in. She barked and stood on her hind legs. I took her for a walk yesterday and we approached the fence of my neighbors dog. It was very bad. She lunged at the fence, growled, barked, showed teeth...
She hasn't met other family's pets yet who come over weekly. I'm very nervous for her to now. Any advice? She otherwise is very calm and quiet. No issues with my great pyr.

Some dogs are like this on lead, but fine off lead. I'm not sure how you find out though, since you don't want to instigate a fight. Our Sammy friends are like that, but they are fine at a dog park.

    Hi @Hmccuu88

There is a folder on this site called Look at That. Therein is an excellent video on how to teach it. I suggest you start with that protocol.

Let us know how you fare?
