This is somewhat off topic as it involves a GSD not a Lab, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. Recently my neighbour's 2 month old puppy was attacked by an adult GSD which resulted in the puppy losing an eye. The adult dog belonged to a close family member. Apparently the GSD became " jealous" when his owner paid attention to the puppy. Needless to say the owners of both dogs are devastated. The GSD had no history of aggression. Has anyone heard of similar incidents involving an adult dog and a young puppy? We have a young Lab and I'm finding this story very disturbing.
Gosh what a heartbreaking story. The poor pup, and the owners must all be in shock. I don’t think it’s typical behaviour at all, but probably not unheard of. I think they would need to consult with a behaviour specialist to try and understand what happened, and help all make some sense of it.
That's a very good idea. Yes I think the owners are in shock. The puppy seems very timid but hopefully will bounce back. Thanks for your reply. I was so upset by this story, having trouble getting it out of my mind
