I have posted lots of things on here and have always had really good feedback, so am back for more! Our problem with Luna is that when we try and sit in our lounge Luna lunged at us and nips and bites, we have tried lots of things but seem to make it worse, even in the evenings when we try to relax and she is tired!

I remember those days well. Duggan drove us nuts. We had a more involved solution and it took us months to make it tolerable. Usually happened at the same time every night with deep barks included. That was pretty much the only time he barked. It was piercing, anyhow, what we did was just before we sensed the onset we took him out for a run in the yard(we have a small anchorage) and then did some training. Usually some retrieves and some recall. When we went inside and he started to pester us we just got up without saying anything and climbed over the baby gate to the bedrooms and milled abut for a few moments then came back and tried again. This would go on for a while but he soon realized that when ever he did that we disappeared. That mostly stoped the worst of it but he would still paw at us and nuzzle his nose in and mouth a bark with no sound. We still continued to leave when this got too annoying. Now, in combination with this we were also mat training at the same time so we would send him to his mat and treat. When he took himself to the mat he got a treat. We then slowly increased the amount of time on the mat until it became his default spot. Now when he comes to solicit play after dinner we can just pay his head and ears for a minute then he goes back to his mat for a nap. PERSEVERANCE is key and saying nothing, not making eye contact or pushing him away are all important to make this work. As soon as you acknowledge the behaviour he’ll cone back stronger and harder. Good luck. Hope this works for you too.

Thank you so much, yes we will definitely start this, we tried again this afternoon but she nipped us both really hard, we had time out then took her for a walk, she then promptly be asleep in her crate! I have to keep reminding myself she is only 7 months and also an anxious one too .☺

Yes I had this with Cassie too at around the same age, do you know it's hard to remember how or when she stopped doing it, but she did!
I seem to recall that she wore a short lead attached to her collar that I could grasp firmly and escort her quietly to her crate, so that I didn't do anything to initiate play.
As they grow up and there days get busier they sleep in the evening, they learn to deal with what to do when they are tired!
