We have decided to visit the Scottish game fair at the end of June this year and are thinking we will take Ripple along  :D. He should have had a few more sessions of gundog training and will hopefully have a bit more focus. We are also working on the basis that so much stimulation will tire him out very quickly so he will give up on his normal over the top behaviour.
    Am I mad? - probably :D.

I think it's a fantastic thing to do. It's good to get him used to different environments. I took Harley to a local festival when she was around 11 months old and she really surprised me at how good she was.

No stopping me now I've made up my mind :D. DH is   but resigned to it.

Thank you @Naya. Ripple goes to lots of new places but nothing like this, I'm sure he'll enjoy it even if we struggle.

Anyway 2 months to prepare :D.

    No but it helps :)

Just kidding, I took Fred to a French market, full of food when he was 10mths, believe it or not, he was as good as gold. So enjoy yourself.

Today was the day and Ripple was amazingly good. Very excited to start with, barked at all the dogs in the terrier racing, tried to eat all the free food samples and played the fool in the scurry; but apart from that brilliant.

It helped that virtually everyone there is tolerant of idiot dogs and it didn't take long for Ripple to reach a level of calmer level of silliness. It was a long day for him walking round but the temperature was quite cool and we took loads of breaks watching the events to give him a chance to rest, so it worked out quite well.

I was really proud of Ripple today.

    Really muddy!
The car park was fine on Friday (don't know what happened at the weekend) but the grounds were really bad. The organisers didn't appear to have made any effort to put down any sort of walk ways or do anything to minimise the mud. In fact all the time we were there on Friday there were vehicles running round churning the mud up even more. OH hadn't taken his wellies and his shoes and trousers were caked.
I felt sorry for some of the stall holders as it was difficult to get to some stalls.

Ripple thought it was great though .
