Re: Amendment to the forum rules I may be a bit dim, but think I need this explained. Not only do I post photos/videos that I personally have taken (or have purchased and been given permission to use) I also will sometimes post other images. Off the leash cartoons, also pictures from Facebook are an example. I was unsure the other day when I posted a copy of an xray I found on google images whether I should have (hence I also posted a reference link to where I found it). I don't know whether this was really ok or not. Does this new rule now mean I cannot do this? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I don't know what the answer is. I don't want to post anything that would leave the site open to criticism. jac
Re: Amendment to the forum rules Not sure about the rules with regard facebook images? Anyone? But generally speaking Jac, we should not do this. At least, that is how I understand it. Am happy to discuss if any one has more up to date info than me. I appreciate I am probably being overcautious. Sorry to be a pain
Re: Amendment to the forum rules May I just ask if news articles are okay? Like this for instance? Apologies for the long link I've no idea how to shorten it ... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/109...s&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map am keen to get it right
Re: Amendment to the forum rules I think because you're linking to the original article it's ok......
Re: Amendment to the forum rules In this case you are not posting text/images on the forum Roz, you are just linking out to another source. I don't have a problem with that. All we ask is that people don't link to information that is available on our own website, or to information that is not suitable for a family forum. Me too! It is figuring out what is 'right' that is the tricky part
Re: Amendment to the forum rules Brilliant, thankyou. What about linking to a YouTube vid (not mine but any one I find on my travels and/or Facebook?)
Re: Amendment to the forum rules Oops just posted a YouTube video before I read this....hope it's okay. The copyright stuff is tricky to understand. Maybe someone here has more knowledge of what can/cannot be posted ie stuff from FB?
Re: Amendment to the forum rules When you post a YouTube video it's as a link. As I understand it, posting a link isn't a problem - you are just directing others to an external site, not taking content from that site
Re: Amendment to the forum rules Okay, good. That was my understanding but like I said I don't have much knowledge about this stuff.
Re: Amendment to the forum rules Whenever I find an interesting vid on Facebook I use good old Google to find it elsewhere (as not everyone has Facebook) to link-to here so that's no prob for me
