I literally laughed out loud at this. The British drive way over the speed limit and sit right on your tail if you don't do the same. And if that doesn't get you moving (it doesn't me) you get flashing headlights up the kazoo.
So now for something a little different, look what I found on the shelf at the local dog store - The Happy Puppy Handbook. I totally fan-girled out! That's weird, isn't it?
And now for more photos - this time Marazion and St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall. Not too many dogs, but beautiful views and a rare glimpse of sun. Yes, I have amazing taste in footwear...and look at that "sand"! And now for a couple "artsy" shots... Don't worry, there are dogs, too - dogs getting on boats! And dogs having a romp on the "sand"! And dogs welcome in cafes, too. And here's my house when I win the lottery... Or maybe this one if it's just a little lottery? And the harbour at St. Michael's... And finally St. Michael's itself...
My experience as well, and it still applies when you're a pedestrian, the amount of times I've been pipped at while crossing a road! And this is while I'm already in the road and the car has just arrived
Goodness, this is a tough audience! OK, I'm ashamed to say this, but somehow I don't think this will come as a HUGE surprise to those who know me: I have been so far better about organising the travel and meet up portions of the Labratour than the actual "puppy" side of thing. How embarrassing. So, um...breeder/puppy visits TBD? (goes and hides in a hole for a while...)
Well I am machine gunning breeders at her, in the vain hope one of them will stick ...anyhow one of my favourite threads atm, hoping to see a lot more forum doggies too!
This was the same lab who used to escape from our tent while we were all still asleep, find the local tip, have a good scavenge and return with all manner of nasties to present to us as we stirred from slumber. A dead frog was one such gift .
Oh my goodness I go off forum for a couple of days and find 8! pages of this thread to catch up on!! I am totally jealous of your Labratour....oh man I would so love to meet so many of the forum friends and dogs. Never mind tromping around the UK to boot....Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Emily. Loving your pics! And BTW San Fransisco to LA is a load of empty spaces? Yeesh you should try the drive south through Montana, through the desert, to Las Vegas, and then to California. I swear if an alien dropped into the US and did that drive it would think no one lived there....hours and hours of driving through rocky desert and nothing else. Had a whole new respect for the settlers who crossed it in wagons after we drove it. Fascinating but absolutely empty (Except Las Vegas of course...)
Oh, I'm sure that's even worse. It's just the longest I've ever driven is SF to LA (or more accurately San Jose to San Diego). That's bad enough. I'm always amazed by the Euros who tell me, "I rented a car in New York, then drove to Florida, then the Grand Canyon, then Death Valley, then Yosemite, then SF and then we flew home." And they usually do it in 2-3 weeks. Yikes! They're tough! Driving long(ish) distances in Europe is more expensive, but I like it better. The middle of Spain and parts of France are kind of desolate, but otherwise everywhere I've been is pretty interesting. You really can look up from the motorway and see castles in a lot of places, especially Italy and Germany. Plus it's pretty nifty to change languages after what was a really a pretty short drive. And I get to add pins to my TripAdvisor map. I'm ALL about adding pins to my TripAdvisor map.
