Well I don't know, Lynne. I also thought we were free from that nightmare and to be honest she hasn't destroyed anything for at least a couple of years. So there you are. Occasionally the red mist descends apparently.

My Mr Luka is also a keen cushion stealer and given enough time with it he too has it in shreds in seconds! If you heaven forbid forget to take the cushion off the sofa and either hide it or take it with you if going upstairs it magically disappears. Then out in the garden far from the house is this yellow lab with a cushion in his mouth with innocent puppy eyes staring at you. I love him to bits, cushions are replaceable, he isn't :)

This was Lukas last bed cushion destroyed. He now sleeps in a bean bag that is housed in a tough sail bag. No more soft cushy things as they are instantly shredded. Funny too is that that cushion was his first one and he loved it then suddenly it became the chosen item to be whipped back and forth in his mouth then it was put out of its misery and destroyed!

I wish I'd taken pictures of the results of the bed-shredding my Golden mix, Henry, indulged in between 6 - 18 months! He'd been born and raised in a dog pound till I adopted him at 6 months, so he had no clue about nice beds or good behavior. He unstuffed and shredded around 4-5 beds (including several guaranteed chew-proof!), various blankets, and misc other stuff till I finally got a hard rubber livestock feed tub and filled it with straw. That worked well :) till the outside cat decided it made a great litter box  (why trek to the barn through the snow when there's this lovely tub full of straw right there??). Now that Henry has "grown up" he no longer shreds everything soft so we're back to nice padded beds tucked into the feed tubs. However! 4 month old Daisy has yet to be truly tested with bedding and unsupervised play time! Time will tell, since I go back to teaching in another few weeks... :(
