Since last week, we have been passing the carcass of a polecat-ferret thing in the middle of the road. It's more of a furry pelt than a gorey road-kill. Coco is definitely keen to investigate. Today it had moved nearer to the kerb. He pulled & showed general interest in it on the way past. On the way back, however, he played a blinder! There were many crows flapping around & picking at the carcass, & Coco was ultra-keen to get to it. We stopped next to it and went through some sit/down/stand drills, which he managed well in the face of the delicious distraction. So I set off again, he ducked behind me to have another look, I jollied on with a "lets go", he appeared back in the heel position WITH THE DEAD CREATURE IN HIS MOUTH! He did put it down when I squeaked "eew Coco, let go!" so I guess it was a good opportunity?
I just love how sneaky our dogs can be . Great drop though, hope Coco was rewarded with something very juicy and scrumptious
Hahaha! that made me laugh! What a good girl to drop though, probably quite startled at your shocked expression!
Good boy Coco!! Everything is always a good training opportunity Sue, good for you taking advantage of the dead rotting creature xx
