Our 4 year old chocolate lab is extremely anxious all the time. He constantly nudges, and licks us. Although he has gone thru training, he rarely sits or lays down when told. Recently we hired a housekeeper - and barks and growls at her. Should we crate him and let him bark while she is at the house? We have tried Calming Chews - but they don't appear to work. He is active, walked daily and loving otherwise. HELP!

Hi I have a chocolate Labrador too he is 11 months.
Sorry to hear he is anxious has he always been like this? Are you his first owner?
Have you tried giving him treats when he sits/lies down?

We got him when he was 1 year old. He had a couple of owners in his first year. We used to try the treats then gave up - I need to go back to that. He was always anxious, but as he gets older it gets worse. We have had no changes to the household at all to create this. He paces a lot as well - it's difficult to get him to relax.
