Thanks so much!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeek! I'm not excited....at...all.... I'm trying to keep calm haha! Oh definitely!! Getting our pups around the same time will be awesome!! What colour are you getting? Yes I'll need lots of hand holding and high fiving doing all the training! I'll definitely try and take lots of photos and will do a post! Can't wait to see yours!!
We are of course expecting lots of puppy photos by Sunday morning - no only joking . Look forward to seeing photos of the new arrivals and that all goes well on Saturday for collecting your puppy
Hehehe! I'll try and get lots of photos of him that will last me the next 3 weeks until he comes home with us! Lots of puppy pics from BuffyDog and myself!
Oh yes, there'll be plenty of photos! I've already been showing the one I took of the pups at 1 week old to everyone, and the breeder has emailed me a couple of photos too. I'm pretty sure I wasn't this bad with either of my daughters lol. I haven't seen the health certificates yet, but the breeder is registered as a KC assured breeder so I've been able to check the results online. I will prob still ask to see the certificates anyway. Lucy- we're getting a fox red bitch. If she turns out anything like her mother she'll be an absolute beauty. Dad is a handsome fella too. The pair of them are so lovely. The next 4 weeks are going to be SO slow.
You mean you have typed in the dam's and sire's pedigree names into the KC's EBV tool? This one: http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/services/public/mateselect/ebv/Default.aspx There is no assurance that the health results are good because it's a KC breeder unfortunately. I know that's shocking. There are no minimum requirements set by the KC in terms of health results.
Fox red... how beautiful!!! Can't wait to see pics!! My pics of the litter are on a post I wrote a couple of weeks ago I think? It will be amazing seeing how much they've grown! So so slow!!!
Anna, that's exactly what happened with us! We were getting a chocolate girl, there were two to pick from and we liked the darker colour as well. Ella was also two weeks when we met her and she curled up and fell asleep in my arms. That was it! Our breeder also mentioned that she'd had Ella in mind for us so I think ultimately we would have ended up with her anyway. There were only three in the litter so it make picking much easier! I don't know what I would have done if there were ten!
Yes, I looked on that website. I've been reading a lot about health tests on the lab health site so it's less gobbledegook to me now than it was a year ago! I know that KC breeders aren't always good, I have heard some real horror stories. Some of the hip scores I've seen from breeding dogs are so high! These parents both have good hips scores though. Thanks for the info Lucy, just seen your puppy photos and did a massive squeee!
