Today, Red (15 weeks) sat at my feet and 'asked' to be lifted onto my lap. She is getting big and heavy so can't do this much longer. She then sat for over 15 minutes, being stroked, tummy rubbed touched on her feet, ears, etc. It was a golden moment as she seemed so content
Atemas that is beautiful. I really enjoyed it when Harley started enjoying being stroked and touched. Now she will stand over my legs and I will use my foot to rub her stomach. Just a few times, and kind of without thinking about it but it is very special to me.
Me and OH still pick Stanley up and carry him around like a baby Or he sits over my knee having a tummy rub. He's a big heavy lump now but he likes it and it makes him happy. And we're just his servants after all..
Twiglet used to back into us for bum scratches. Mollie puts her head an my knee - love it. Tatze always lies down for a tummy rub, any fuss and she's on her back lol
Later on, my DH sat in the same chair and Red just launched herself at him, straight onto his lap for the same treatment. Not to be encouraged, I know but interesting to observe the different 'styles' she uses with each of us - already seeing him as the one for rough and tumble
We love having Snowie on the sofa with us. We definitely encourage it! We thought we'd be a No Dogs on Sofas house until we discovered how lovely it is to cuddle. Wish our boy would do it more but he gets too hot and prefers the cold floor after a few minutes. Every morning he jumps onto our bed and lies with his head on my husband's pillow and they cuddle together. My husband loves it!!
I too am another convert to snuggles on the sofa. My girl is so loving and loves nothing more than to be squashed up against me, head or paws or nose on my lap. The last lab we had as a family when I was growing up used to lean against our legs for strokes. If you gently moved your legs a few inches one way she would shuffle up with you. It was so sweet.
In the evening we all go in the lounge from 9pm. Tatze snoozes on me on the sofa. Mollie is not allowed on furniture so she snoozes on Mr Boogs (he's a floor sitter) Here is a photo of Mollie not being allowed on furniture
She's not - it's HER chair! This is the first pup who feels entitled to try it on! She's also the first full Lab pup - says it all lol ...
