Just thought I'd give you a quick update on 'Bailey' This evening he has been for his first injection and health check. Vet has told us he is a very healthy puppy. Injection didn't bother him at all, took it in his stride. Vet has told us that he is going to be a big dog. She was surprised when we said he was 8 weeks old last Friday. She said she would expect a puppy his size to be about ten weeks old. He is settling in real well and already going to the back door and whining when he wants to go out to do his business. We've had a couple of accidents, but in general he has done really well. Bailey is crated at night, have no issue with him settling. He has cried and whined a few times, but we've tried to ignore him. Last night (Monday) his crying and whining tone changed in pitch and loudness. I got up, never turned on any lights and got him out of his crate. Never said word to him, took him outside where he went and had a wee. I have him a treat and again without saying a word put him back in his crate and left him. He cried for a couple of minutes then settled. I'll be honest and say that so far he has been brilliant. Just hope I've not, just tempted fate and this in just a honeymoon period !!!!! Am beginning to wonder if we've been exceptionally lucky and the next few weeks/months will prove that.
How nice to hear from you! Sounds like Bailey is settling in really well...enjoy..well for a little while anyhow until the crocopup emerges!
Sounds great. Our Loki has his first vet's appointment tomorrow. What does Bailey weigh? We weighed Loki to be 12 pounds currently
Sounds like he is settling in really well We were also lucky with Harley as a pup (except she wouldn't sleep in her crate) and she is now a chilled 3 year old girl (unless we are on a walk or at agility!)
So glad your Bailey is settling in well. My Bailey has always been a very good sleeper, with no crying at night - it must be the name . Enjoy the tiny puppy phase, it goes so quickly
Fabulous! Not all pups are the devil incarnate. My Willow was pretty angelic, if I'm honest. You may just have a good one, but, if not, we're hear to listen when the crocopup emerges
Have you put some soft toys like teddies in his crate with him, so he can cuddle up at night with them like his littermates.
That's great that she's doing so wonderful. For now Little Stryker leaves for the vets in 30 minutes for his second set of shots.
