Oh!!! My sister was looking after my parents' dog and said she had been fussing at her pad - so much that it had gone down to the flesh. I knew she wouldn't have been doing it for no reason, but, apparently there was "no reason". It all makes sense now - over-use of the chucker because that's what she does with her own dog....

Not really the dog's fault though...a human is throwing the ball...

The last time we were at the beach( nearly summer so we probably won't be back until winter, beach seems to fill up when the sun shines, don't know why! ) a group of women dressed for a pub trip, got out of their car, released two cocker spaniels and produced one ball launcher. The sea front has a footpath that is separated from the sea by a wall, a high wall. Instead of heading down onto the beach, they kept to the path, you all know what happened next. Ball flies over wall , spaniel flies over after it. He just disappeared. The look of shock on their faces. That poor dog will never be as lucky again.

Oh dear, I hope the dog was ok! Definitely another one to chalk up to 'the hazards of ball launchers'.
