we have never bathed Zeus (nearly 6 months old) and had no plans to as I know it’s not good for their coat. However last night Zeus was a bit sick in his crate. I washed all the bedding, wiped the crate round and could still smell a strong smell of sick and I have now realised it’s actually him that stinks (bless him ) so I went to our local pet store and they suggested a leave in shampoo spray for puppies. Tried it and unfortunately he still smells. What’s the best and easiest way to get him nice and fresh again?

We use 'I love Pet head puppy' and smells like oranges!

We have also bathed our pup each month for the first 4 months we have had her to get her used to the idea. She now just sits and lets us do it.

Hope your pup is feeling better.

If you are near the ocean and it isn't too cold, swimming in salt water seems to be as effective as any shampoo. We do a fresh water rinse afterwards. On the rare occasion that we give our Lab(s) a bath, I do it in the shower, and use a mild puppy shampoo. They don't seem to mind it much.

Mine can't stand being bathed- think it would be a good idea getting them used to it when they're puppies. He swims in the river a lot and smells fine unless he's rolled in something. I'd just sponge with some fresh water if swimming isn't an option.
