His reaction was just because of the stern voice (doesn't sound good, he thinks), not that he was guilty at what he did.
Re: Bedding I know that Penny often rips a new peice of bedding a little bit the first time we give it to her, then after a couple of days she's ok with it. It's like she just has to personalise it a bit. She still can't have stuffed beds or nice snugly blankets though I really want her to have an orthopaedic mattress in her crate but she would definitely eat it! So we have a piece of vet bed and a fleece blanket. She plucks the vet bed so there's bits of fluff everywhere!!
