I thought you might enjoy this story about a black Labrador that has been trained to sniff out a bee disease affecting beehives so the hives can be treated. The dog has to wear a special suit to avoid being stung. A few people are having issues getting their pups used to wearing harnesses at the moment - we should thank our lucky stars that we don't have to train our dogs to wear a bee-keeping suit like this boy has to! http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-07-03/beekeeper-dog/4795960
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Thanks Rachael, ill look at it later when I come in,rushing now.....just had a thought about how much Lisa would love the idea of getting Simba into a beekeeping outfit......I certainly wouldn't fancy get my fella into one! X
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Had to laugh at the thought of Simba ;D Lynne, I don't think that he looks too thrilled either - maybe it's just a little bit too 'fashion forward'.
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Oh dear, poor boy... But it is a great job he'll be doing, helping save the bees. WITHOUT getting stung!
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador i think the heels are a bit small for him....i would have no chance of getting that on jasper
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Must be a very laid back dog to allow that get up to be put on , but what a fantastic job
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Amazing now I've seen it!Heidrun mentioned a hankering to keep bees and she's the girl to train a dog to wear something like this....tell Ziggy it's what all the most a la mode Clumbers are wearing this hunting season x
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Oh my!!!! All I can say is that the owner better not use duct tape to repair that CONE shaped head-gear!! My imagination completely fails me when I try to imagine getting this on Simba....
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Wow.... I'll threaten Charlie with it if he doesn't stop trying to catch the bees on the cotoneaster!
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador I think the suit should really have a tail shape at the back - looks a bit silly without, I think. ;D
Re: Bee-keeping Labrador Hah! Can you imagine getting your dog in there AND trying to put the tail in the tail-hole???? ;D ;D
