As you can see the puppy is not going to be spoilt at all...

The slippers aren't for him of course, I have just bought them for the kids to protect their toes from teeth.

Also have a small crate 24", some vetbed, a 30" sloping car crate (not sure how long that will last him?), a carrier for when we first pick him up and a big bag of his puppy food on the way, and now just to order the larger 42" crate and a harness which we are going to wait until he's here so we can measure him.
Am I missing anything to start us off?

Oh no, that is gonna be one deprived puppy :) ;)

Are the baby shoes intended to be chew toys? Or are they actual toy shoes designed for chewing? Either way, hilarious.

New slippers the kids' feet! Thought I'd throw them in there as I've only bought them because of the puppy and protecting little toes haha.
They will probably attract the puppy's attention but were the least fluffy and cuddly toy looking slippers I could find :D

So thought the slippers were for the dog :cwl:

Good thinking on the tiny toes protection though!

Sure I read about it in Pippa's book, otherwise I wouldn't have even thought!

Haha, I had fluffy slippers when I had my two. Everyone sucked their teeth and told me they'd be puppy bait, but amazingly they survived with only the tiniest of nibbles along the way!

One other thing I can think of is some Simple Solution for cleaning up accidents. It's an enzymatic cleaner and removes all traces of smells that we can't detect. Many household cleaners contain things which can actually encourage pup to toilet in the same spot again.

You also need cardboard boxes. Lots of them. For ripping up purposes. Best toys ever :)

PS brownie points for a good choice of ball - non-abrasive for the puppy's teeth.

Oh, and a puppy harness. The Puppia mesh ones are really good to start off with :)

Thanks, I'll have a look for some of that solution.
I'm sure I have a few cardboard boxes about. We're prone to receiving Amazon deliveries :D When's the best time to give those then, like when I'm cooking dinner and want him to be occupied?

Thanks. Haven't got the harness yet. Was looking at the puppia harnesses but not sure what size to get and was going to measure him when gets here?

You can buy Simple Solution on Amazon - yay, another box! Hehe. So, yes, when you want him to be occupied, when you're having a shower etc. Be prepared to walk back in to confetti :D

Good idea - puppies do come in lots of different sizes, and he won't need it immediately, although it's a good idea to spend some time getting him used to it before you do need it. My two went into harnesses at about 15 weeks (after Shadow slipped his collar and terrified me by nearly getting run over - I'd have one from the get-go next time) and, as much as their Puppia harnesses were too big at first, they were in them until they were about 9 months old!

Puppy pads - to cut up into 4 for mopping up widdles, much better than kitchen roll as it's plastic backed. :)

I would suggest you swap the puppy Kongs for medium sized ones. They don't really get 'into' Kongs before they have grown out of the puppy ones, I find. I just have one.

I love buying for puppies - my problem is that I've got everything my next pup will ever need!

3 out of 5 of the kongs are medium sized ones but only 2 are medium puppy kongs, 1 is a large puppy Kong and there's a medium and large classic. Might get a couple more medium puppy ones.

My puppy loves cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and plastic bottles with rice in (you have to keep checking them for holes but Alfie loves them) :)

Keys come in small and large size, would you recommend small to start with?

Large, I think - but they do get to the stage where they can chew them to pieces, I have to keep mine away from Tatze.

I have a bunch of really small puppy toys for having in my pockets, so that I have them constantly to hand to put in the pup's mouth.

Here is my collection - this is by far the best, something about the texture, which is why I have two.

Thanks, ordered one of those round things and the keys now. I might as well just let him loose in my kids' playroom. He'd have a field day. Not sure they'd be too pleased though
