Hello, my lab Jules is now 7 months old. Adorable at home, no problem. We go to dog training twice a week since he's 12 weeks old (obedience training; sit, down, wait, follow, stay, ... Goes perfectly fine when we practice at home, was a perfect "student" till a few weeks ago, but as soon as we arrive at the school now, he turnes into another dog, ""Dr. Jeckyl" :-[, goes crazy, wants to play with the other dogs and won't do the exercises properly and pulls like hell !!! October 31st we have to take a test, pretty sure we won't pass if he goes on misbehaving at school ... Is this puberty ?????? If so, does anyone have useful tips ? Ignore ? Be extra strict ? Help :-[
Re: behaviour when training @ dog-school Welcome If you have a little browse around the forum you'll soon see you're not alone! ;D Teenage time is tough and you need bucket loads of patience and persistence. It's key to be consistent and firm. I know Riley was difficult because he is super social and other dogs were enormous distractions. We just went back a few steps, more lead work where previously I'd have trusted him off lead etc etc. It came right again just hang in there
