Try not to worry about her too much tonight, she'll probably be out for the count due to the GA. Just look forward to collecting her tomorrow and seeing that madly wagging tail when she sees you.

This isn't something that my surgeon recommended, no. You have to follow the advice of the people who are treating your dog (and none of the many vets I had involved were fans of supervet). :)

You can find all sorts of devices that are supposed to help. I signed up to an online rehabilitation programme, that was supposedly free and would give me advice each week (not that I didn't have endless professional advice anyway but I was worried and scared - and vulnerable because of that). The stuff they tried to sell me was unbelievable. Maybe some of it helps a bit, maybe none of it, maybe people disagree on whether or not it helps.

Trust the surgeon you have. If she thinks a knee support will help, she'll send Bella home with one. :)

Thanks. I also signed up to an online site and they are sending all sorts of stuff - some very useful but a lot about 'buying supplements etc ' will see what my super vet says tomorrow :) !!

She'll sleep because of the drugs, and be home before she knows it. :) Charlie was on a lot of drugs, for quite a while...

I so wish you could see my boy now, after two cruciate ops. He is energetic, bouncy, happy, can outrun most other pets dogs - and he has such a joie de vivre you have to see it to believe it.

All of this trouble will end, and you and Bella will have many, happy, active years together. :)

Hello, thanks for all the messages. She's doing ok, was sore and uncomfortable at first and wouldn't go to the toilet but that's passed now and she's walking on it well. The Haiti lead has been great ( one end attached to harness, other to collar) used ice pack to reduce swelling and a bit of extra pain relief as required. She even gave a little bark yesterday so she's getting back to her cheeky self!! She's even not complaining too much about being in her crate. I've managed to corner of the sofas and she's fine in the living room when I'm there too which is good. Back to work tomorrow so she'll be in her crate morning and afternoon with lots of sardine kongs to keep her busy. Check up on Wednesday and second knee booked in for 23rd dec all being well.

So glad to hear she is doing ok.

Will be thinking of you on the 23rd - so sorry you have to do this over Christmas. But, best to get it over with, hopefully come Spring it'll all be way behind you. :)

I was thinking that - although it's Christmas etc, I'd feel the same. Time off work to be with my dog when he needs me. That's more important than Christmas stuff (or rather, probably more like proper stuff to do at Christmas).

Next Christmas this will be so far behind you both it'll just be a faint memory. :)

I really hope so!! She just given me a few barks for not playing with her, then given up and laid on my foot.... I sense a little diva might be about to make an appearance! :)

CDM I was thinking of you today, glad Bella is doing well. I see a lab at hydrotherapy who had knee operations a few years ago and you'd never know. The reason she has hydrotherapy is so weight loss not her knees. X
