Over this last couple weeks, Simba has discovered he can run up on our compost pile in the far corner of our yard and bark at the neighbour's cat. It's been the occasional woofing here and there, but nothing too excessive. But the last few days it's becoming more - a lot more barking, on and on. So I went out there today to see what the issue is. This is how I found him: Untitled by psalmone1, on Flickr And this is what I saw when I stood exactly where he was (zoom in, you will see the cat! Cat by psalmone1, on Flickr The tease! I think it just sits there watching him as he barks at it, and sometimes flaunts around just out of reach. My fear, of course, is that Simba will launch himself over the fence. He certainly could, from there. We are going to have to either block off the compost or build up the fence there....but likely won't get done before the snow flies. Sigh. I think I will at least go out there and rake down the pile so it's not quite so high.
My boy Oscar always has to have one of Juno's treats, while Belle prefers to drink out of Juno's water bowl
There is a neibour behind us whose cat teases Homer. The cat sits on the fence a foot away from his nose. Drives homer mad, and the rest of us too!
Simba...your tail is truly magnificent ....and it's a tail that looks like it means business, tease at your peril cat! X
Poor Simba, having both cats and dogs I empathize with him. Years ago our cat would tease the dog next door by lying down and wiggling her feet under the gap at the bottom of the solid board fence. Poor Pepper would come to investigate the tantalizing feet and the cat would grab her nose and next thing we'd hear Pepper shrieking. Three or four weeks later Pepper would fall for it again.
My now sadly deceased evil ginger mog used to sit on a work surface in the kitchen and knock stuff off for the dogs to eat. He was a total despot but the dogs loved him.
