Done and dusted I even took some bric a brac over for their shop. Definately no glamour there, just people doing their best for animals in trying conditions.
Update... Here is Blake, we have been fostering him here now for just over 4 weeks. We have had our ups and downs, mainly due to trying to sort out Blake's health,he had a nasty abscess, was painfully thin plus was suffering from a tick borne disease..on top of that house training a young labrador has not been fun! He is now well on the road to recovery, and absolutely wonderful. He has a lovely nature, and despite everything his personalty and resilience shines through. Blake say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported him so far.... blake 13th oct 3 by Marcus Hart, on Flickr scurry blake 2 by Marcus Hart, on Flickr
Ah, there he is, lovely boy. Well done, Kate, what a massive and wonderful thing you have done for Blake. How is his weight doing now?
Due to be weighed on Thursday..he is looking healthier, so everything crossed he starts to make more significant gains.
Ah, good news! How much longer do you think it will be before you start looking for his forever home?
Oh his eyes in that top picture.,so pensive ..and then I love seeing him look so chipper in the scurry one. I know you won't have had an easy time Kate but you and Marcus are wonderful people helping him so patiently and kindly xxx hopefully now he's on the up and will make a wonderful companion when his forever home is found x
Our contribution to Blake has been minor in comparison to what you and Marcus have done for him. You are the real heroes to Blake. Are you sure he hasn't found his forever home He is a beautiful boy in both looks and nature.
This whole story brings tears to my eyes. Thank you Kate and Markus from all of us here. Blake is a lucky, lucky boy.
Just caught up with this; what a happy dog he looks jumping over the hay bales, he must think he is in heaven.
No doubt we will have a full agility course too! Blake LOVES the scurry. Took a while to work out that the dummy or ball is coming from the other end...he has to be steady first, then he is let go and he FLIES down to the end and back it is sheer joy to watch. It is like watching a gazelle, he has even cleared the fence next to the scurry...sigh.. Benson jumps one the sits on the next bale chewing the straw, he loves it though!
It would be wonderful if Blake stayed with Kate, but also wonderful if he found another loving home. Because then there would be a space with Kate for more dogs that need a helping hand on their way. Either way, Blake wins.
Oh, I know - Kate has done such a marvellous job with her fosters so far and it's so lovely to see the changes in them. I just wonder if there's room for Blake and future fosters.... I'm sure Marcus wouldn't mind
