Hope she's better soon. Rory just cut his pad too, I think its because the mud is drying out and any glass or rocks are now coming to the suface. I've had it happen to other dogs at this time of year when its less muddy but drying. I'm being careful with Rory the vets says theres nothing in there, he's on limited exercise which hates but its improving slowly. He didn't bleed too much and he's been brave. It happened just after Doug was PTS and I was such a nervous wreck abut it, he's had cuts before they all have but I thought it was something really bad. It was just too stressful I just couldn't bare the thought of something happening to Rory.

She's absolutely fine, thankfully. She gives it the odd lick, but isn't fussing at it and was running around with Shadow and their friend Alfie like an absolute lunatic. I want to file her nails later this morning, so I'll see how she finds me holding it for that. It's actually in quite a protected spot, on the inside edge of her pad, so not as bad as it could have been.

Have you got any Mushers Secret? I put some of that on once we were boot free to help protect riley's pad. So glad it's not really bothering her :)

I do! I normally apply it once a week over the winter, to keep the pads supple and to protect them from the salt on the roads. I'll give it a go if she's happy to let me later on.
