That's not boasting. It is sharing your success and encouraging others.

I agree, very encouraging! It does take such a long time and a lot of effort. Funny how now I notice dog walkers, and especially those with dogs walking nicely to heel :)

....which are actually a lot less common that you might think if you pay attention!
And is it me, or are the little dogs the worst? Sorry to generalise. But do the owners feel they need less training to walk because they are less likely to be yanked over?

A very impressive result from Lynne and Jasper. Be proud :) :)

Well done Lynne, you should be very proud of yourself as it is your first dog and you have achieved what many never do.

    Re: boasting

It is true. When you are training a dog yourself you notice how well other dogs are walking on the lead.

I have noticed that little dogs tend to be worse on the lead. I guess if you have a small dog it pulling etc is not such an issue.

If like me you are a little old lady with a large lively dog you have to get it trained. I'm 67 now, so with good luck, good health and a following wind (for both of us) I could be walking Molly at 80.

Last year I was metaphorically skipping through the shopping centre, feeling 30 years old, when a little boy poked me in the middle with his fishing net, the father said "oh look you have caught an old lady" :-[ :'( I caught the father by the lapels and said "less of the old and more of the lady"!! So you see I am the oldest on the forum but can still skip over a style with ease ;D
