Hello, I'm Boogie. I have a lovely black lab called Tatze who is one year old on April 1st (but she's no fool!) I have always had dogs but Tatze is my first lab. I totally adore her. She's from working lines and a real live wire. I call myself Boogie after my first dog, who lived 19 happy years. He was a Collie/Manchester terrier cross. Tatze means 'paw' in German - my son lives in Heidelberg and named her after his friend's guide dog
Re: Boogie on down! Hi Mags, welcome to the forum. Tatze is beautiful. Jac and Lilly (who is 4 on 1st May)
Re: Boogie on down! Welcome! Tatze is just a bit older than my Merla, and sounds very similar! Beautiful face
Re: Boogie on down! Hi Mags, A warm welcome from me as well. Tatze is a beautiful girl. Lovely intelligent face. Jen and Meg my elderly yellow lab.
Re: Boogie on down! Thank you so much for your warm welcomes. I have enjoyed Tatze's puppyhood enormously! Tatze had her spay on Monday and is being good as gold on lead walks only. She's missing her best friend, Zaba, but they play too boisterously so he can't visit while she has stitches - my friend and I got black labs at the same time so that we can look after each other's dogs. Zaba comes for two weeks in June - I can't wait. He's a placid, laid back, food obsessed, mud loving boy. Tatze isn't food obsessed at all and often leaves a bit of her breakfast, so he'll enjoy that! Here are the two of them
Re: Boogie on down! Aww they are both just lovely! Welcome to you and Tatze ftom me and my two Cuillin and Brodick
Re: Boogie on down! They look lovely together, are they related? And what a nice idea to share the whole puppy (and afterwards) experience with a friend.
Re: Boogie on down!
They look lovely together, are they related?
No - and thereby hangs a tale! We were going to get litter mates. But then my husband decided to go on a 10 week bike trip coast-to-coast USA :. I didn't want to do the new puppy weeks on my own and I didn't want him to miss the fun, so I got Tatze a month earlier than my friend got Zaba. She was a little miffed at the time, but all is well now. She adores Tatze and loves having her. They are both SO different too, which is nice. Zaba is form show lines and even prances along like he's in a show ring. Tatze is all-action and very intelligent. I'm so glad my friend has a laid back placid boy 'tho - he's her first ever dog! I have always had dogs and when we got Tatze my 15 year old Cavalier, Gavin, was still with us. He taught her super doggy manners as he was, of course, too old to play. He would let her on his bed so long as she didn't move a paw - if she so much as stretched out he saw her off He went to the rainbow bridge very peacefully a couple of months ago, joining his brother, Callum, who died six months before him. Here they are -
