can anyone suggest some brain games for my pup? Would love to give him some other mental stimulation other than just our usual little training sessions Thanks
Me and my partner got some puzzle games if you are located in the uk perhaps try pets and home? We actually got one from Aldi the supermarket and another one from amazon if you search stimulating games in google it’s sure to come up with some you can buy for pups We find fun training really tires our pup out we always make training abit fun or he loses interest
Have a look at scent training. I did a workshop which gave me enough skills to practise at home. We started with tiny bits of wafer thin ham stuck to every day objects like cardboard boxes /luggage. When he found the ham along with a command like find or seek he got the ham and a treat. The second session replaced the ham with a tiny piece of cloth scented with cloves. This was hidden on chairs/under bags boxes etc. Again he got a reward when he found it. Unfortunately I had to stop at that stage but it gave me enough to be able to hide the cloth at home and let him find it. Using their sense of smell really wears them out. It’s amazing when the deep breathing kicks it and they really go for it. I did it with some smoked cheese the other day and although he had never smelt it before I just let him smell my hand and he was off! Great for a rainy day!
