We picked out our pup last week at 1 week old, left a £100 deposit for her and left assured we would be kept updated on the puppy with pictures etc. I emailed yesterday (one week after visiting) just asking how the pup is getting on etc and asking a couple of questions. I've had no response so this morning I text messaged her just saying this is my number and that i've emailed but appreciate she may be very busy. My other half says i shouldn't worry but part of me is wondering why i'm being ignored? Or am i expecting too much?
Re: Breeder interaction? It's only been one day so far so I wouldn't worry too much - they probably have their hands full looking after their new litter of pups! I had no contact with my breeder in the two weeks between choosing our pup and collecting her, whereas I know some people will be in contact every week.
Re: Breeder interaction? i thought so! i just thought it was strange not to get a reply - i'll not worry about it from now on i just want more pictures haha.
Re: Breeder interaction? I didn't have any communication from when I chose my pup until the day before I collected her. I think the breeders can be really busy, so I wouldn't worry too much
Re: Breeder interaction? The breeder didn't proactively contact me, but she responded to my numerous questions by email - not straight away though, as others have said, she was busy. I bet it's hard work looking after puppies!
Re: Breeder interaction? My breeder didnt sleep in her own bed for three weeks after the litter was born. She slept on a sofa close to where the pups and Mum were. So dont worry, all will be OK. Plus, depending on the size of your litter, she/he is probably getting emails from all of you at the same time. Hopefully breeder has a way to post photos on-line, like Facebook, etc. I know, you want to see YOUR pup!!!
Re: Breeder interaction? I must sound like a complete and utter nutcase (i am...) She has now responded and *DUH* I forgot, they were moving house this weekend! I feel even worse now and have apologised for messaging at all! Pictures when she has time, i'm dying to see them!

Re: Breeder interaction?
Moving house with a litter of puppies!
Hmm....that must be fun!
Re: Breeder interaction? Im still using the excuse of baby brain and my baby is almost 2 this does NOT bode well for my post-puppy memory!! There are 8 pups in the litter and they're 2 weeks old - i would NOT like to move house in that position haha.
Re: Breeder interaction? Good to hear that she responded Life must be incredibly hectic for them right now! Don't feel bad for contacting her - you are just keen to know how your puppy is going
