Firstly Thank you for reading this thread..... My baby is going to be ready the second week of January 2017!!!! Soooo excited but not quite sure which carrier, crate , or car box to get for her. I will be collecting her on my own as every one is at work on the Friday I am collecting. Can any one advise on the best most comfortable ride home will be for her. Thanks in advance x
Do take something enclosed that she can't get out of. When I collected my previous pup on my own, he was an angel and just curled up in the footwell of the passenger seat. Tried to do the same thing with Molly and she was a nightmare - determined to climb on the seat and howling loudly!
When our pups are delivered the journey is also about 40 minutes. My supervisor brings them in a small plastic cat type crate with vet bed and a blanket and teddy in. She straps them in with the car seat belt. Some cry, some don't (Mollie did) (I raise pups for Guide Dogs - I never pick them up, tho I could, I can't bear puppy cries!) ...
Thank you both for your replies, I had been offered a cat crate but was not sure it was going to be ok for her. I've always had a companion to help collect but she is a surprise for my partner. X
He lol , Hes always wanted a black bitch .... Cant wait to see his face when he comes home to find her !! I'm expecting a complete emotional wreck soooo hard to keep it from him ( he will never trust me again hahahahaha ) Would like advise also on Crate training I have never used this method but as we live in rented accommodation it will be a must Thanks Lisa x

Wow - far better than Christmas! We have @snowbunny on here picking up her new choccy pupster TODAY!!
Hehe, just caught up with this. I've been rather busy, can't think why I used a plastic pet carrier to bring her home. It didn't need closing in, because she stayed curled up in the base for the whole 6+ hours home! What a little star
Wow you were lucky I will be calling her on my own so may need enclosed one just incase, for both our safety too. Merry Christmas
How exciting for you - good luck! Can't offer any advice as collected our boy with my OH - I sat in the back and got chewed the whole hour's journey - that and deafened with his howling for at least half the journey! Looking forward to seeing your puppy pictures
