I've thought Loki's eyes have looked a bit watery and a little red for a few days although at the vet's yesterday for another appointment about his allergy the vet couldn't see anything wrong with his eyes but to be honest he couldn't really get a good look as Loki was moving around so much very excited. Then today I noticed on the inside corners of his eyes brown bits in the red part. Looks like dirt or something like that but don't think it actually is. Is that something we should get checked our or is it normal and something you've noticed before and just part of the eye?
I can't really see anything that looks untoward. His eyes don't look sore or gunky or anything. But if you're concerned there's no harm in ringing your vet and seeing what they say. He looks adorable though - I just want to kiss his little nose
lovely close-ups . He looks fine - keep an eye on him & contact vet if more gunk visible. Hopefully drops/ointment would clear it - we got fusidic acid from the vet when Coco had a bout of conjunctivitis which cleared it up. It started to come back about a week after I stopped the meds & I bathed with used tea bags which cleared it up - but really, I wouldn't recommend treating yourself, seeing a vet is really better.
If what you mean is that the pigment on the inner eye rims is dark, that is normal on a yellow dog. On Charlie, his inner eye rims are skin coloured, and they look much more like human eyes. I've also looked twice at Betsy's darker colouring to make sure it looks normal.
