Happy Christmas, Bud, and to your daddy and mummy too.

More things seem to be happening here today. Mummy has been busy with lots of paper, but I'm not sure what she's been doing. We've both had a lovely walk this morning, so we're quite tired and are trying to be good and not get too excited. Those antlers seem to have gone away, thank goodness.

We hope you have a lovely time and find some packages for yourself under the tree. Perhaps you'll open them faster than Harley? :)

Lots of licks and bounces from us both to you and all our friends,

    Wispa and Tuppence

Thank you Wispa. Thank you Tuppence.

Not sure if i will be able to open the packages as quickly as Harley - she is rather speedy. Maybe my excitement will bring out more speed.

Glad to hear those antlers have not returned. If we were meant to have such things i am sure we would have been born with them already on our heads.

Till we speak after Christmas, have fun.

    Hi Bud,

HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you and you hooman family, from both of us! Today, Mummy has been in the kitchen aaaaaaallll day! We thought we must be getting some amazing treats, but she wouldn't let us taste ANY of the scrummy smells she was making! Don't you think that's a bit naughty of her?! Teasing us like that!! We did get a whole lot of treats "to keep us quiet", though. We had lovely kongs filled with tuna, a really BIG bit of frozen chikkin each, ice cubes... so much, we kept falling asleep when trying to keep an eye on her. It was OK, though, because one of us was always on watch to make sure she didn't sneak past without us knowing.

Bud, you should have seen the thing that she was cooking. It was like a chikkin - we know what that looks like, because we have bits of it sometimes, but Mummy and Daddy sometimes have a whole one, hot, which they keep for them, but give us tastes of. Anyway, this was like a chikkin, but HUGE! We've heard the TV-box talking about dynarsaws and I think this might have been one of them! It went in the hot box and filled it up so nothing else could go in, and was there for aaaaages, then Mummy took it out and she got ANOTHER ONE and put it in the hot box, too! THEN, there were two really big bits of pink meat she made hot afterwards. It's something we've not seen before, but I think I hear her say "gammen". We don't know what all this is for, but there's some deelishious smells in the kitchen today. Hopefully we'll get to taste some eventually, because Mummy and Daddy haven't had any of the food! Well, Daddy had a couple of little bits when he came home from work, but he made us promise not to tell Mummy.

It's a bit strange now, Bud, because Mummy is still awake - and it's REALLY late - and she's still cooking! She keeps saying "prep for tomorrow" but neither of us knows what that means. She seems quite excited about it, though, so that's making us excited. If it means we get to taste any of those amazing smells, that IS exciting!

You talk about a tree in your house. That seems very strange. We only have trees outside here. There's lots of them outside and I don't know why there would be one growing inside!! BUT, Mummy tells me that tomorrow, we are going to our sister Annie's house (where Uncle Buster also lives) and there will be an inside tree there!! It will be very funny to see that. We're also going to sleep there!! We've not slept anywhere else since leaving our first, doggy, Mummy, so that will be VERY odd.

Anyway, Bud, we have lots of news but Mummy is telling us that she needs to get up in less than six hours and she needs to get the rest of the "preps" for tomorrow done.

Wishing you a fabulous first "Crissmass"!

    Love, Willow and Shadow x

Hi Bud! BUD!!!! Are you there? and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!! To you and to everyone!!!!

Oh boy. I've just found out what Christmas is and I am having the best day ever in my whole life. Best ever ever ever. I've not been around much recently because mummy has been too busy on her tappy thing to let me have a go (although I have been trying my paw at the Trivia Quiz occasionally, and that's good fun, have you tried it?). Life has been pretty good recently - no great excitements, just a nice round of eating and playing and walking. I watched mum and dad bring a tree inside (what a strange thing to do!) and put lots of sparkly things up on the ceiling and round the walls (even stranger) but I didn't really pay much attention because it wasn't anything to eat and I figured that they wouldn't really want me to play with it. So nothing.... and I mean nothing!..... prepared me for this fantastic day. Let me tell you what has happened so far:

    - the day started normally with daddy coming down to do something with the hot water thing in the kitchen and then going back upstairs (where I'm not allowed). Then as usual he came back down and I took him for a quick stroll around the garden. But then...
    - mum and dad did some COOKING in the kitchen and then instead of just going into the main room with boring mugs of coffee we all went to the big table in the DINEYROOM (I think that's what it's called) and we had 'Special Breakfast'. And I had some and it was something called skrambledeggsandsmokesammon. And it was heaven. And mum and dad said we were going to have nice things all day and I could have a bit of EVERYTHING!
    - and then we went into the main room where that tree thing is and there were lots of boxes under it and I had to help get all the paper off the boxes! And then I was allowed to rip all the boxes up into tiny little pieces and spread them all over the floor!
    - and then I pulled the paper off a boxy thing and inside there was a tuggy toy for ME! JUST FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    - and then after I'd run round and round and round with my new tuggy toy I pulled the paper off another boxy thing and inside there was a funny thing that mum called a SKWEEKYTOY and when I picked it up it made a funny noise! And than made me go crazy so I ran round and round and round and round and round and round and round with it and it was making funny noises all the time.
    - and then we went for a walk to one of my favourite places and I got all muddy
    - and then we came home and they did more cooking and then we went into the DINEYROOM again and we all (yes, me too!!!) had something called skalloppsandblakpooding and it was even more heaven than the skrambedeggsandsmokedsammon.

And now we've come back into the main room and they are looking at the picture box in the corner and I am going to have a lovely long nap... because they say that there are more things to eat coming soon and they'll be just as nice.

What a day! And it is only half over. Bud, I really like this Christmas thing. I'm feeling quite excited because I think I've heard mum and dad say that in a few days time we are having 'family christmas' when my four hooman sisters and their men people and two small people are all going to come for the day and I have a feeling that that might mean even more food things. I'd better get into training for that one I think.

Well, I really need a nap now. I hope your Christmas is going as well as mine. Lots of Christmas licks and tail wags to you, and to your mum and dad, and to all of our friends on the message board - I feel a really lucky puppy to have met you all in my first year! Looking forward to lots more fun and exploits next year.... have a great time everyone!

    Pongo

PONGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Hi mate. I am here now. My parents didn't seem to be on their tappy boxes all that much over the last couple of days, and as much as i am learning to read and write pretty well, bringing alive the box so that i can talk with you is not something i have learnt.

I have to say firstly that my daddy was laughing out loud and smiling a lot when we were reading your message. You have got quite a character he says. But lets get straight on with the important stuff shall we.......CHRISTMAS!! Like with you Pongo there have been an assortment of new and enticing smells wafting around the kitchen, and i can say some of those aromas actually turned into tastes which made me deliriously manic for some time because they were so good. I am grinning from one loppy ear to another to hear how fantastic your day had been at the point of your writing. Allow me to try now and share a little of my first Christmas.

My day started in a fairly normal manner, though i detected excitement in the air. I went out for my early morning walk and run, but noticed immediately a difference when we returned. Mummy was already downstairs, and there was a smell of cooking in the kitchen. Mummy had made a start on an early morning cooked breakfast, and daddy joined in when he had freshened up from our morning exercise (i am certain he gets more of a workout than me. :) ) As much as i was trying my best to lie down patiently and wait to see if i would be treated to any of the delicious smells alerting my senses, i could not resist occasionally running around madly, but this was getting in the way and so i had to return to my downstairs bed and watch calmly. My good behaviour did finally reward me with some additions to my own breakfast, and boy oh boy did i enjoy it despite how quickly i cleared my bowl. Mixed in with my kibble was what i soon found out to be small pieces of sausage, toast and scrambled egg. What a start to the day Pongo.

Throughout the morning there were even more aromas coming from the kitchen, but i was sidetracked with more excitement in the living room. All of the pretty boxes under the tree were about to be opened, and i had quite a few for JUST MYSELF. Oh my word the fun i had ripping at paper and chewing at cardboard....so much fun that i almost didn't realise that there were gifts for me within all this delightful mess i was creating. I could not believe my eyes. I found a new chewy bone, a tug toy with a ball at either end of some strong rope, and a really cool noisy toy which is really colourful and chewy but it has what i understand to be a bell inside. I have had so much fun with this, and it has been in nearly every room of the house that i have access to. But there was more. One of my gifts was hard and round, and there seemed to be some kind of little furry creature attached to it. Daddy picked it up and played with it for a moment and then it seemed to come alive!!! Really Pongo, he placed this toy back on the ground and it was making a funny noise, and it was moving on its own!!!It was going round and around, and the furry animal was moving with it and sometimes appeared to be pushing it. I had to investigate and i must have had some of the best fun ever chasing it around the floor. And then if things couldn't get more exciting, another of my toys came to life. It had flashing lights and wheels and sped across the floor, turned upside down and jumped and landed back on its wheels and sped from here to there, and there to here. I chased it and bit it, picked it up and shook it yet still it moved around. From one room to the next i was chasing my toys who were actually playing with me. How COOOOOOOOL is that?

All of this playing soon tired me out and i had quite a long nap despite the food smells and activity taking place in the kitchen.Eventually though it was dinner time and you'll never guess what Pongo? I had my very own Christmas dinner! Really. Daddy had made sure that i was only fed food that was not dangerous, but there was some green and orange vegetables (not the round ones though that mummy and daddy had on their plates) a bit of potato and special sausage, and CHICKEN. (As i understand, the traditional white meat many people eat over Christmas is not a taste my parents like.) Yummy is the only word i can say right now that describes how tasty this meal was. I have got to say my friend that this Christmas event is something i will look forward to every time it comes around because i have had such an amazing time.

Yesterday, the white stuff called snow finally arrived. It was quite late in the evening but when i went outside i was greeted by a strange brightness and soft cold stuff under my paws. And then mummy and daddy picked some of it up and threw it at each other until mummy fell over. Of course i then had to jump all over her and run around in a crazy manner that is pretty normal for me at times. I like this snow, but i think i detected from daddy that he was a tiny bit disappointed. He is still waiting to experience what he says is his "first proper white Christmas," yet i know he is still really happy to see the snow now.

Well Pongo, i am now going to enjoy the rest of this holiday time and you and i will catch up much more when something called the New Year arrives. I don't think i will be able to speak much before then because mummy and daddy seem to take time out from all their tapping and do other things. Which is nice because there is even more time for me than usual. Until next year Pongo when i am sure we will have lots to share, i will say bye bye for now. Thank you for being my friend-it is a real pleasure to get to know you and your parents.

    Stay safe and warm.

    Bud :) (and Tony)

Hi there Willow.......hello young Shadow. My apologies if this is a very short message to you both. I hope you will gain a little idea of how Christmas has been for me by my previous message to our friend Pongo. I wanted to just drop by quickly and say a few words before this tappy box goes to sleep for a few days.

I hope you have been enjoying your first Christmas, and to quote daddy "it isn't over until we enter the New Year." It sounded like your mummy went to a lot of trouble and effort to create what must have been some extremely delicious food, and i am sure the wonderful aromas turned to tastes. I hope your mummy managed to get enough sleep to prepare her for the following magic which is how daddy refers to Christmas.

Did you enjoy seeing your first indoor tree? Isn't it great to have some of the outside brought inside the house, especially since a lot of what is outside MUST stay where it is! I really do hope you have both been enjoying this holiday time of the year, and i am sure i will hear all about it at a later date when your mummy is less busy, and my parents bring back to life their tappy boxes. I would just like to say though that, as with all of my new friends, i have really enjoyed getting to know you both, and i look forward to sharing a full year as we continue to grow in both size and character. Thanks so much for your friendship.

Shadow/Willow, keep safe and cosy and have lots of fun. Chat with you when the New Year thing has arrived.

    Your friend Bud.x

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!! To all my friends. My mum is from scotland and she says it is important to say Happy New Year so I'm saying it to everyone even though I don't really know what it means. My dad is from England and he says he doesn't really get it and is she expecting me to wear a doggy kilt too. I don't understand any of this really but I'm hoping that maybe Happy New Year comes along with the same sort of turkey and stuff that Happy Christmas did.

Hope you are all having a great time, Bud and everyone! Speak again soon...

What is a New Year? Human sayings are still so confusing. (What daddy? uh huh, uh huh. Ok, i don't really understand but it sounds exciting.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR ;D to you too Pongo and your parents, and to Willow and Shadow, Harley, Wispa, Tuppence, Casper, Benson, and anyone else who knows me, canine and human. My parents are both from England but daddy is very protective of keeping the Christmas and New Year traditions he grew up enjoying, so i am going to follow in his footsteps.

I asked daddy what a doggy kilt is and he showed me a picture...Pongo....DON'T DO IT!!!!!It's bad enough i had to wear what you see in the photo for a short while on Christmas morning. (Mummy's idea....daddy wasn't too impressed.)

Well friends, it is really great to welcome in this new year with you all. I look forward to lots of chat and fun times, and even the sharing of some words of wisdom from time to time. Till then, have fun everyone. Keep safe.

Oh, Bud, I think your eyes say it all! It looks rather cosy, though, better than those silly antler things they tried to make Wispa and me wear!

Fortunately I saw the antlers being put back through the hole in the ceiling today with some of the other Christmassy things, so I think we must be safe now. I did my best to grab them as they were carried upstairs, but now they're lurking up there waiting to catch us unawares again. Unfortunately I can't climb the steep steps, neither can Wispa, so I hope they'll just stay there and be forgotten.

Happy New Year to you and to your parents and friends.

    Thank you Tuppence.

We have one of those holes in the ceiling also. Daddy disappeared in there before Christmas but he hasn't been back up since. I don't think he likes it up there as he breathes funny when he returns.

Well, yesterday i had another journey on a bus, and then another bus, before getting to see my favourite vet man for my 6 month adolescent health check. Mummy was with me as daddy doesn't travel very well on the buses when they are busy, but next time i think we will be walking, which will be so much fun with both my parents. I got to wag my tail and get excited around a few people on the buses, though not everyone was impressed with my bounciness. The vet man was really nice, as always, even when my excitement caused me to dampen his table. He made a funny noise when i first jumped up to him, and mummy later told daddy that he would understand why this noise was made :) I proved my strength with the vet man when he tried to look in my mouth though....he could not get access and mummy had to help. That was a fun little game.

Daddy had written questions down and the vet man took time to write down answers and explain a few things to mummy. Daddy was really happy when mummy gave him his piece of paper. The good news is i am in very good health, now in the 10 - 25kg weight category (whatever this means), and daddy and mummy were praised for how well they are looking after me. I heard daddy say he was "humbled" and "very proud" to have been told this.

Very tired today after being given what mummy says is "worming treatment." It is the monthly process but i am now on a stronger course given my age. It is certainly making me want to sleep but i don't feel ill so this is good.

Hope you, and Wispa, and all our friends, are in good health, and smiling. Keep safe and chat more soon.

Hey Bud! Glad to hear you're doing well and going on the BUS! You must be very brave! I don't like the BUS one little bit and make sure it doesn't get anywhere near me when we're out on our walks. It makes me shake when it makes a lot of noise and then I try to run away. Mummy is trying to make me like it, though and we keep looking at them, sometimes from a bit further away and sometimes with them passing in the road. I was VERY brave this morning, too, when Mummy took me to see a BINLORI when we on our walk. I don't like BINLORIS - they make me very, very scared. But, Bud, this one wasn't a problem at all. You see, it was DEAD! Not breathing, none of those horrible crunching noises they normally make. Even then men who keep feeding it had left it alone. I was super brave and gave it a sniff. Once I realised it was DEAD, I was quite happy to sit next to it for a while.

It sounds like you had a lovely time with the vet man. I like our vet man too, although I prefer the pretty nurse because she gives us lots and lots of treats. It sounds like your daddy is super organised with all his questions and doing a good job keeping you fit and healthy. He must love you very much. I think I know the noise you are talking about. Daddy makes it sometimes too when he lays on the floor in the mornings and I jump on him. It's so much fun!

Mummy has been doing what she calls "handling" with both of us. Willow isn't too keen on being brushed or having her face touched, so Mummy decided it would be a good idea to work on that so Willow becomes braver with it. She then tried to do the same with me, but I didn't really understand it. After all, having any part of me fussed is the MOST FUN thing in the WORLD! When she brushed me, I just rolled onto my back so she could get to all the best bits. I'm not so keen on having my mouth opened at the moment, because it's a bit sore. I don't really know why, but sometimes it tastes really weird and then something hard and crunchy falls out of my mouth. Mummy is giving us lots of nice cold things to crunch because of it, though, so I don't mind too much. Yesterday we got a frozen carrot each, which was yummy!!

Anyway, Bud, I'll let you get back to your nap. Naps are very important to us puppies. They're almost as good as dinner. But not quite.

    Speak soon!

Re: Bud's Story (an ongoing diary)

Hi there Shadow. Sorry i have taken a while to get back to you. Sometimes daddy shuts down his tappy box and i need him beside me to assist in chatting with all my friends (as intelligent as i am, i can not master the box all on my own :) ) I have also been presenting a few problems with a tummy problem that worried my parents quite a bit. Kind of shocked me the first time i went to pass a motion (as i have heard it called) and the whole process had completely changed. I have been eating different food at the moment, which is helping me get back to normal, but in all honesty i have been my usual mischievous and playful self, amidst plenty of naps. I think i will always love my sleep times.

You have bin lorries too?? Cool. I have not seen a dead one......they can't be as much fun if they are not moving surely. I haven't approached one that is moving yet, but i watch them from the window and think to myself one day i will have fun chasing them. Buses are so much fun if you want to meet new people Shadow, but i don't think i will be going on them much more as i am strong enough to walk longer distances, and so trips to the vets are an enjoyable walk all of their very own. And soon i will be able to walk to where mummy works and walk her home.

Yes, daddy is very organised and i know he and mummy love me lots and lots. We all like our vet man and he has a large room where he works which i think makes daddy feel more comfortable. I have been there again today and all i wanted to do was play with the vet man. He doesn't mind but it was preventing him checking my heart rate and taking my temperature (that is a rather strange experience i must say!)

So, you are starting to lose your baby teeth? It is a really odd sensation isn't it when they drop out. But are you aware that new, stronger teeth take their place? I use my new teeth to play bitey hands and feet with my parents. And daddy uses a slipper on his hand and turns it into a kind of moving toy that i have great fun biting and whacking with my paw. As for being brushed - i quite enjoy the fuss. But i can understand Willow not liking some forms of contact. She is a brave girl though and i am sure she will learn to enjoy it eventually.

Right, i think i am going to have a snooze. It has been quite a tiring day so far and i have missed out on some of my naps. Really lovely to catch up with you Shadow. Stay safe my friend and we will chat again soon.

    Your friend Bud.

    Hi Bud,

Glad to hear you've been your usual self, even though you've been eating different food to help your tummy settle.

Mummy bought us a new rope toy a couple of days ago. We love the rope balls that have a loop that we can pull and play tug-of-war, so we've had great fun with it. But ... guess what! Mummy forgot to hide it away when she went out for a little while yesterday and we were 'trusted to be good' (not given our yummy kongs and put in our crates). When she came home, that naughty Tuppence had chewed it and unravelled some of it, then covered the floor with little bits of chewed rope. I tried to tell her that she'd be IN TROUBLE but she wouldn't listen, even though she usually just waits patiently. Now mummy has really hidden it away, so we can't play with it at all. Tuppence is now trying to get me into trouble too by encouraging me to play bitey games.

I'm going to have to help to 'sort out Tuppence' now. I hope you've had a good day, Bud.

    Hello Wispa,

You and i have the same enjoyment of tug toys, and i have a rope ball which i am still attempting to unravel. My problem is i play with one toy for a while and then switch to another, and then another. Hence it takes longer to complete the challenge of turning the rope ball into a simple piece of rope! I also have a rope with two loops for pulling, each with a tennis ball inserted onto the rope handle. I love tennis balls but they are no challenge for my growing adult teeth.

Oh dear....Tuppence is misbehaving yet again. Does she have a thing called a naughty step? Apparently this is a place to go when we have been naughty where we are alone until our parents call us back. I sometimes go to my bed which is near the stairs most times as i like to guard the front door. This feels like a naughty step at times but i don't mind really. I just fall asleep and before i know it i am being cuddled again. Bitey games is fun Wispa...does your mummy not enjoy these games? The trick is not to bite too hard - i am close to understanding the 'gently' word now but i sometimes get carried away.

Well, it's been a bit of a tiring day but all appears to be mostly good. Have fun 'sorting out' Tuppence-could be interesting i think.

    Hello to all my friends.

Well, it is fantastic to be fully healthy and back on my regular food again. I actually quite enjoyed my chicken and rice but missed the crunch of my kibble, and my treats. All back to normal now, and has been for a few days. However, i am starting to find myself nose to ground on many of our walks - i seem more interested in following my nose, than looking at what is ahead of me and around me. I even pay less interest in daddy and mummy for some really strange reason, unless there is a treat on offer, or the speed of our walking is fast ( becoming a run.) Daddy has been trying to get my attention with this clicky thing but i am becoming really good at ignoring it.

A few things are changing at home too. Today the big shelter we had outside our back door that we walked through to reach the garden has gone!! (daddy called it a TENT which was open-ended and created what he called a material conservatory - apparently daddy loves the sensation of being outside.) I really loved this tent as i could walk outside the door in the pouring rain or strong winds and remain perfectly dry and warm. My parents had their sitting area and on either side were what they referred to as PODS - one had my outside bed for when i sat outside with them, and the other mummy or daddy sat in if they wanted to feel cosier on a really cold day. It seems really strange walking directly out into the garden, but tomorrow it will be all change again. Something called a GAZEBO is being delivered. I don't know what this is but daddy says it is not going to be a large one, just somewhere we can go and be outside even when the weather is not very nice. I get the impression daddy doesn't like being restricted to staying indoors. It all sounds rather exciting i must say. I noticed when it got dark tonight that some of these extra lights in the garden came alive. Daddy says that as the daylight hours become longer, and especially when the sun starts to bathe our garden, these lights will come on at night and stay on longer. He says there is nothing like ending the day with a brew under the night sky.

My teeth are getting stronger and sharper i notice. Some of my toys don't seem to last long as i soon chew them until they are in pieces. I love to chew on things - mummy and daddy don't always appreciate what i try to chew though. But i don't think i am being too naughty.

Well friends, i hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves. My walks are getting longer, and i am getting to explore new surroundings. Life is good.

Stay safe and have lots and lots of fun.

    Your friend Bud.x

    Hello Bud,
That all sounds very exciting being able to be in a shelter in the garden when it's dark. We have little lights in our garden too, but they don't light up for long at the moment and the light isn't very bright. Wispa and I love to rush out into the garden when it's dark, usually about the same time every evening. Mummy thinks it's because we want to chase the foxes!
Last night we had a scary walk in the dark when we went to see our young master. It was soooo exciting, so I got a bit naughty pulling on my lead. We went up some steep stairs to his flat and then there were lots of new sniffs. I loved exploring and so did Wispa. Eventually I snuggled down for a sleep until it was time for another walk in the dark to go home. Then I ran straight to the treat cupboard because I was sure I'd been good!
    Have a great day, Bud!

    Hi there Tuppence,

It is very exciting indeed. I can't wait for this new addition to our garden.

I think our lights, and yours, will shine brighter and for longer as the days become longer and as more sunshine smiles in their direction. Isn't the night time great? We don't have these foxes you mention though they sound like a lot of fun if you get to chase them, definitely at night. I only get to chase birds during the day time but they are too quick for me and they have the advantage of wings so they can fly up high away from even my highest jump. So unfair. Daddy says i would have liked his very first house as there would have been foxes, and badgers to say hello to at night, if i was quiet. And squirrels during the day. But i am happy with where i am.

You are not the only one who sometimes pulls on the lead. I tend to do so more when we meet mummy from work or when she gets off a bus. Must be the excitement of being with her. Sounds like you really enjoyed your young master's home - though how did you cope with the steep stairs? I manage our stairway at home but i much prefer flat ground wherever possible. Did you get your treats when you returned home? I am sure you must have.

Well, off for a nap until the knock on the door which should be our deliveries. Then maybe i will be able to help with this gazebo thing!! Or maybe not. :)

You have a fantastic day also Tuppence. Wispa too.

    Bud

    Hello again Bud!

Glad to hear you've been having a good time. Me too.... lots of walks and sleeps and food (so what more could I ask for?). I don't really care about chasing the birds in the garden, but I really, really, really would like to talk to a squirrel. I see them sometimes on my walk and I run after them but then somehow they just disappear! I dash around trying to find out where they've gone but they just vanish into thin air. Mum and dad seem to find this funny and they are always looking up into the trees while I'm busy with my nose on the ground trying to find the squirrel which has DISAPPEARED..... really I do think that they could do a little more to help. But that's hoomans for you.

My mum and dad have a gazebo thing too that they sometimes put up in the garden. Dad calls it the gay zebra. Anyway, I hope it arrived safely and that you helped your dad put it up.... I love helping my dad do things in the garden and in the shed, I am very good at picking up his gloves and killing them for him.

I am REALLY REALLY HUNGRY right now. For some reason my meals have got a lot smaller all of a sudden (although they also taste fantastic - mum says I am being given "chikkinenrise" because I have "die-erry-ah". I don't know what that means. I just wish I could get them to give me a little bit more in my bowl. I'm off now to try a bit harder with the puppy-dog eyes to try to communicate that I am STARVING and need more food NOW. Wish me luck.

    Speak again soon, Bud!

    Pongo

PONGO........hey mate. Great to hear from you.

I have to begin by saying a huge thank you for making both my dad (yes i think it is time i eased away from the daddy and mummy terminology now. I feel all grown up even though i act like a baby much of the time!) and my mum laugh almost uncontrollably. Dad says he could picture you looking in your food bowl with a frustrated look on your face which says something like "And where is my REAL food? I am a growing boy and need to build up my energy. Hello, parents of mine, more sustenance please, thank you very much." :) I like it when dad laughs-he needs to do it much more often in my opinion.

Really sorry to hear you have that rather startling poo problem which i had not too long ago. Have you been sneaking extra morsels of what you see as food into your mouth when noone has been watching (or even when they have just to say "You watching me is not going to stop me!") or have you come down with a puppy cold as i hear it referred to? You haven't said that you feel any different in yourself, except for the hunger of course. I hope you recover very soon my friend and are back to your normal diet in quick time.

We don't get regular squirrel vistis here, which i think saddens dad a little at times, only because he is probably remembering days gone by. We did see one last year, just the once, nosing around but then it vanished into the trees and has not been back since. You need to train your eyes to really follow them though Pongo as they are quick and agile. Whether they will stick around long enough for you and them to have a conversation is something that would be mighty funny to watch and listen to. Unfortunately, if the likes of you or i, or any of our other friends, even make a movement towards them they seem to just run off into places we cannot reach them. Rather rude if you ask me but maybe this is their way of playing with us.

Yesterday didn't go quite to plan regarding our "gay zebra" (apparently this caused dad to chuckle a little so must have been funny.) The naughty people who were supposed to deliver it to us made a mistake in some way. Mum was expecting this gazebo thing and dad was expecting some WEIGHTS that are a solid white object that dad was saying he has to fill with water and then bolt around the legs of the gazebo. I think they help stopping it from blowing away in strong winds. Anyway, both items were coming from the same people. Dad got his weights yet it had mum's name on the label and said GAZEBO. The actual gazebo did not arrive. All of this is rather confusing to little old me but basically i never got to see this wonderful shelter. Hoping it will arrive today but dad, being highly sceptical, is not convinced that it will.

I don't know about you Pongo but i sense that our lives are so much simpler and stress free compared to that of our parents. I wouldn't want to be a human. But i do wish i could eat as much as they do :)

Well, i had best get back to my day. I hope your puppy-dog eyes eventually reward you with the food you are craving. More importantly though is getting you back to full health so be patient as best as you can. Look after yourself. Before you know it the chicken and rice will change back into the meals you are accustomed to. And then no longer will you be STARVING.

    Catch up soon Pongo.

    Bud

Yes, that's EXACTLY it, Bud! Why is it so difficult to make them understand such a simple thing? Really, they are not very bright. But I love them anyway.
