Riley has a pronounced bump in his spine about two third of the way from shoulder to start of tail :(

Any ideas? Will be phoning the vet in the morning.

As you run your hand along his spine the vertebrae all feel like a nice gradual progression then there are about three that go distinctly up and form a bump before returning to the original line.

    Has it just happened Barbara?
Lilly looks a bit humpy sometimes ( ;D ) but other times looks normal - I put it down to her posture because of her hips :-\

I've only just noticed it, he seemed to be moving fine on his walk at 3pm but then he's walking ok now and doesn't seem in discomfort particularly and doesn't wince or move away when you touch his back.

He's been a little out of sorts today but that's par for the course at the end of the holidays when Ben heads back to work he seems to dislike change to his routine especially when that means less company.

Hmm...assuming he hasn't been in any rough and tumble, he's walking ok, and not in pain, it would seem keeping an eye on him sensible, unless anyone else has any thoughts ?

Sorry I've got no idea on this one - hope he is ok! If you're worried it's always best to phone the vet for advice.

I wonder if the vet might recommend a good dog chiro to have a look at him. I used to take my old boy to one (he had a neck injury) and when he had an adjustment it made a visible and immediate difference to him. The chiro we saw was also a vet and had had extensive chiro training on top of that.

I was wondering about physio or similar Rachael, will see what they say tomorrow. I've got an early meeting so it will have to be the afternoon :(

Hope the vet visit goes well. It might be nothing at all to worry about :) If he is functioning perfectly normally then it can't be too serious :)

It will be interesting to hear what the vet says. I would agree that if it is not giving him any discomfort you would think it's nothing serious, but good to check just in case.

Didn't slow him down as he legged it at a million miles an hour to see his buddies Inca(black lab) and Sorrel(pointer)

There are some very slight changes though, getting ready to lie down is taking longer and he's stretching more so I will get it checked later for peace of mind.

Fingers crossed that there is a simple explanation and it is nothing serious, Barbara. :)
