Can I give the dog a bone?

    If you buy frozen, just a thaw in the fridge for a day or so does the trick. I buy all my stuff frozen (that's how they sell everything in the shop). Mince (everything already ground up together) takes a day to thaw and the turkey necks take 1.5 days.

    Personally I'm loving feeding the raw stuff again after years of cooking everything. It's so much easier and doesn't heat up the kitchen, which considering the heat wave is a good thing! :)

    That's good advice, thanks. I can imagine it's much easier than home cooking everything - that's quite a commitment! I think I'll have a chat with our local butcher too and see what he has to offer.

    Our Honey hasn't really shown much interest in eating dead things (yet!) on her walks.

    It's recommended to freeze some raw foods first to kill any possible parasites/ bugs etc.

    We defrost before feeding.

    Thanks for the freeze/defrost tip. You're lucky if Honey isn't interested in dead things yet. Hope it stays that way!
