Although..this is when the shock hits them...so it may be a while before we hear anything from the OP!
We shall see. I may need to post an emergency SOS. So excited! And starting to get nervous. Having dumb thoughts like "what if he doesn't like me/us? What if I do the crate wrong? I can have self belittling and pessimistic tendencies. But that's one reason I'm getting a puppy - to build my confidence after struggling with deepening PPD and growing anxiety over the last 5 years. I've never been so happy as I have been the last few weeks and that was only anticipating a dog. I can now say I'm excited for the future whereas 2-3 months ago I wanted to....well let's just say I couldn't say that I was excited for the future. Thank you all for your support and help on this life-saving journey!
The one thing you don't have to worry about is him liking you! You're about to become his whole world and he'll love you so so much! The confidence boost I get every day when I walk through the door I'm like "I know, I know.. I'm the best".
I don't know how to imbed pictures yet from Flickr. Maybe it'd be easier to do on a computer instead of my phone. But.........Here he is! Our seeet and chubby Toby. https://flic.kr/p/Xj39Dd Our sweet Toby. by Cassie Stiles, on Flickr
So the waiting is over.... He looks lovely, and don't worry, he will think you are absolutely the bees knees!!!
Aww, he is such a lovely pup! Reminds me of my Alex. Everything will work out great, after a day or two he will adore you. There will be a few trying times and he will make you tired for a bit, but as the weeks pass by he will learn so quickly and make you so proud.
Thanks everyone! Things are going really well. Am finding out he doesn't quite like rubber toys like the safestix or nylabone. He loves clothes, hair, towels, and stuff animals. So we really have to be on top of his biting our clothes and grabbing hair. I bought him his own stuffed animal so we can direct his attention to that when he wants to chew our hair and clothes. Anyone have puppies like that. How did they turn out? Hehe I'm not worried - but I'm not going to introduce the dummy till he's been more into chewing harder materials. He actually scored somewhat low on retrieving for his appitiude test so I'll do more intentional training when he's been more welcoming of harder things.
All puppies are like that especially labs with care and time they turn out fine. There's is loads of info on the main site that is useful
