Re: Charlie being sick I hope you've solved the mystery with opening the capsules. Scott had a peculiar tummy bug which just made him vomit once every couple of days. After two weeks of trying different things I took him to the vet who decided it was probably something he'd eaten and put him on just a three day course of antibiotics. The vomiting stopped but he then got diarrhea. That was at least three weeks after the vomiting started if it was connected although I did wonder if the diarrhea was a result of the antibiotics. :-\ Is Charlie's tummy gurgling a lot? Scott's tummy made some loud noises when he had this bug.
Re: Charlie being sick Thanks Jen. I remember you mentioned this bug before. No, there is no gurgling. Absolutely nothing apart from the vomiting. Maybe the poo analysis will show whether it's a bug or not. Hopefully, anyway. It's not too worrying on the face of it, after all, he seems fine in all other ways. But would like to know, of course my imagination generates wild theories of something being horribly wrong in his tum!
Re: Charlie being sick Bones had a very sensitive stomach all his life Julie, which caused fairly frequent bouts of vomiting. He lived to the ripe old age of 14…
Re: Charlie being sick Poor lad , hoping you can get to the bottom of this really quickly Julie, nothing worse than something wrong, no matter how minor and us not knowing whats causing it x
Re: Charlie being sick Hi Julie, when will you know result of poo test? Hope vet gets to the bottom of it quickly.

But would like to know, of course my imagination generates wild theories of something being horribly wrong in his tum! [/quote] I know that feeling Julie. It's one of those situations were you hope the tests show something so there is a reason and it can be sorted but you don't want anything to be wrong. :-\ Will keep my fingers crossed I hate tummy problems. Keep us posted.
Re: Charlie being sick Up twice in the night to a very distressed Charlie with liquid poo... Making sure he drinks, and stay quiet...back to the vet tomorrow, I think.
Re: Charlie being sick Drat,my tummy turns over when I read about tummy problems, they are just so worrying. This has been going on for a while now so I hope this visit can shed some light.you can't do anymore for him than what you are doing ,I hope he's calmer now x
Re: Charlie being sick It's possible the vomiting and liquid poo are not related - we haven't seen any vomiting for a few days now. Honestly, is this like childhood illnesses and injuries and they grow out of it? I'm never away from the vet it seems.
Re: Charlie being sick Just a thought, do you think the liquid poo could be the heat Julie ? I know it can have a similar effect on children ?
Re: Charlie being sick I was thinking that when you posted about the heat. He had 5 walks yesterday but hasn't been out apart from that and only one walk was in he sun, the rest were in the shade. So I don't think so, but maybe. I haven't given him breakfast yet, I'll give him a small lunch. OH wants to call the emergency vet today, but I can't see that an otherwise healthy adult dog with the runs but no other signs of being unwell, still drinking and eating, is an emergency.
Re: Charlie being sick Oh no poor Charlie and you Julie I know here in Hampshire it was hot even in the shade, so we walked in the evening as it was much cooler, so maybe it is the heat. I hope Charlie is feeling a bit better today xxx
Re: Charlie being sick Thing is Julie, they can get heat stroke/exhaustion even when not in the full sun and it was very warm down here yesterday too , I would keep him out of it completely today and see how he goes x
Re: Charlie being sick I'll definitely keep him out of the sun then - we're on the river, with some breeze, and the blinds down in the house, it was max of 20 degrees inside and not much more out, maybe 22 - 24 at midday. But I'll definitely watch it.
