    Hi everyone,

    I'm looking for some advice.

My 8 month old Golden Lab has started chewing things, she runs around with shoes, underwear etc and then hides under the bed and will chew it. When we try to get them from her she runs around crazy. She also chewed up my hallway carpet. She has plenty of toys to occupy her. She tends to chew most when I am in the shower in the mornings.

    Thanks

Leave her somewhere where she can only do minimal damage with a frozen kong. Put away all shoes, clothes etc so she can’t get at them. Bitter Apple spray is worth a try on anything you don’t want her chewing.

+1 Just keep them away from things you don't want chewed. Ours outgrew the tendency to chew up things that weren't theirs, and now we don't worry about it at all. With the exception of small pieces of firewood, they only chew on their toys.

Don't ever give them old socks or shoes as toys for obvious reasons.

Thank you so much for your advice. I have ordered bitter apple spray. I should have mentioned, she opens our mirrored wardrobes to get the shoes and she gets the socks and underwear when I'm doing the washing.
I have also ordered a kong.
I'm hoping she outgrows this stage soon.
